25.01.2022 Welcome to a brand new week, it’s the last day of November 2020 which means we are one week closer to Christmas!!!! Today we are introducing TWO fabulous new Rookies to the Wolfhouse Campus. Bentley a Beautiful Miniature Dachshund joining the Grassland Wolf Class and Charlie a Cute Miniature Golden Retriever Cross joining the Artic Fox Class. Starring their day off with some balancing acts conquering the suspended moving bridge to mushroom were the Arctic Fox (Belle, Bortie..., Charlie the Miniature Groodle, Charlie the Spoodle, Fawn, Gizmo, Gypsy, Indi, Jazzy, Luna (Lovegood), Neville (Longbottom), Penelope (Penny), Rafa, Sookie, Stella, Theodore), Grassland Wolf (Bentley, Billie Lauchlan, Cash, Ellie, Frankie the Cavoodle, Frankie the Dachshund, Frankie the Miniature Groodle, Franklin, Harvey the Spoodle, Iggy, Ivy, Jack, Louie, Lucy, Marshall, Mia, Odin Smith, Pepper the Border Collie, Percy, Piccolo Black Wilson Yeo, Poppy, Pumbaa, Sofi, Sprout, Yeezy), Jungle Coyote (Chase, Harvey the Jack Russell Terrier X, Lil Snoop, Rio, Rocco), and Tundra Wild Dog (Aspen, Harlo, Lilly) classes. Then off to the Raceway it was time to sprint and jump over some hurdles! The Golden Plains Wolf (Bailey, Frankie the Siberian Husky X, Harley, Hazel, Kevin, Kiwi, Lucie, Rosco, Toby), Desert Bear Dog (Barkley, Kailani, Pai, Todd), Highland Coyote (Bianca, Billie, Fergus, Mackenzie, Maya, Montgomery, Raff), and Timberwolf (Gavin, Jemima, Kerbi, Lupin, Maverick, Molly, Pepper the Border Collie) classes started their day in Riverstone Pass to stretch those legs and see who could jump the highest over the hurdle. Following this the classes then made their way up Mt Wolfhouse to take in the morning views.! It was then time for the classes to come together and practise appropriate meet and greets and to catch up on the morning’s events. Once all were re-acquainted it was time for a dip in our pool which is always supervised by one of our Adventure Co-ordinators. This afternoon our desensitisation class will involve crutches. It’s more likely than not that your pup isn’t constantly exposed to these long sticks and it may find them a little frightening. We will work with crutches and the familiarisation of these aids by slowly introducing to them to the pups. Today’s educational component will involve loose lead walking. Ah, the joys of walking, or shall I say strolling, with your beloved four-legged companion(s). @

24.01.2022 It’s a great day to be at Wolfhouse and cooling down in the pool! Today we welcome six spectacular Rookies! Welcomed into the Arctic Fox class are Mila the sweet French Bulldog and Tofu the adorable Miniature Dachshund. Joining the Jungle Coyote class are the loveable English Staffordshire Bull Terriers Louie and Zephyr. Aubrey the beuaitufl Chocolate Labrador is having a blast in the Jungle Coyote class and sweet Poppy the Labrador Retriever X is welcomed into the Golden Pla...ins Wolf class. It was off to some obstacle courses to conquer this morning for the Arctic Fox (Belle, Benny, Coco-Belle, Gus the English Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Maddie, Maple, Matinee, Mila, Penny, Shadow, Tig, Tofu, Vader, Willow), Jungle Coyote (Django, Louie, Rio, Tom, Zephyr), Grassland Wolf (Bailey, Benson, Cosmo, Franklin, Kuma, Leelu, Lila, Lily, Maggie, Max, Poppy the Cavoodle, Ralph, Winnie), and Tundra Wild Dog (Cookie) classes. Then time to get sprinting in the Raceway! Starting off with some hurdles this morning were the Golden Plains Wolf (Charlie, Chet, Cooper, Gus the Basset Hound, Kaiba, Loki, Poppy the Labrador Retriever X, Raphael), Desert Bear Dog (Aubrey, Kailani, Ollie, Raf, Todd), Highland Coyote (Bianca, Chester, Coco, Kobi, LB, Lulu, Stevie), and Timberwolf (Billy, Harvey, Layla, Molly Sharp, Pepper) classes. Later it was time to go through or on top of the tyre tunnel in Riverstone Pass! Now it’s time for all classes to come together and practice their meet and greets, catch up and the morning events, and then get splish-splashing in the pool with our Adventure Coordinators!! After all these adventures, everyone enjoyed a free-time period where rest was encouraged before taking on the afternoon activities. Our educational component today will involve the clicker. These simple clicking noises help mark and reward a specific behaviour. It’s shown that behaviours that are rewarded are more likely to be repeated. Our desensitisation class today will involve playing some of these booming noises produced by fireworks, over our loudspeakers as our Academic and Adventure Team work on making positive associations with them. @

23.01.2022 Welcome to another stupendous Saturday! The sun is shining, birds are chirping and puppies are playing on a perfect Wolfhouse Saturday! Today we are welcoming four gorgeous pus to our pack! First up are two Border Collies Dobby and Chester who have joined the Timberwolf and Highland Coyote class respectively. Next up are two French Bulldogs Wolf and Honey who have had a blast in the Arctic Fox and Grassland Wolf Classes. After most pups were on campus, our crazy pups in the G...olden Plains Wolf (Chet, Cooper the Australian Cattle Dog x, Gus the Bernese Mountain Dog, Gus the Basset Hound, Juno, Kaiba, Loki, Matilda, Mylo, Olive, Sherwood), Desert Bear Dog (Ollie, Todd), Highland Coyote (Chester, Chilli, Dusty, Kobi, LB, Ranger), and Timberwolf (Albert, Diego, Dobby, Layla, Maisy, Poppy Rose) classes kicked off their morning with a mountain hike! These doggos did not take their time with this as they raced up and down as many times as possible! It was then four paws to the floor and into the Raceway where they showed off their fancy footwork as they weaved in and out of the agility poles! Spending a relaxing morning in Riverstone Pass, we have t the Arctic Fox (Gus the cute English Staffordshire Bull Terrier puppy, Lumi aka Halloumi Smalldon, Noodle, Penny, Tilly aka Matilda Smalldon, Willow, Winnie, Wolf), Jungle Coyote (Sophie, Tom), Grassland Wolf (Archer, Cooper the Cavoodle, Honey, Iggy, Lila, Lily, Maggie, Reggie, Tuck), and Tundra Wild Dog (Cookie, Dash, Duchess) classes. After getting well acquainted, it was off to the Raceway with a bit of a competitive edge. It was time for a high jump competition! These little legs sure can jump! It was then back into Riverstone Pass for a lesson in textures! Whether it be rocks, sand, rubber or wood getting pups accustomed to different feelings under their toes! It was then everyone’s favourite time of day as all pups came together in a group socialisation session practising adapting their playstyles with a wide range of dogs! All pups also practised their balance either on the balance board or up and over the see-saw. It’s now rest time for all as they recuperate for this afternoon’s educational activities. This afternoon we will be testing the pups impulse control as they practise sit stays in a high distraction environment. Tyring to control their urges to run after their friends can be difficult but today’s pups are up for the challenge! We will then be desensitising the doggos to handling for vet visits. Touching feet, ears and teeth can be uncomfortable for a lot of dogs so ensuring this remains a positive experience is a must for their next visit to the vets! @

22.01.2022 It’s Ralph’s SECOND BIRTHDAAAAY!! This beautiful, sweet, playful Yorkshire Terrier X celebrated with all his pals here on campus and with a delicious cake that probably weighed more than him! Please join us in wishing Ralp a very Happy Birthday!!! @

22.01.2022 It’s our first Friday of 2021 and we have been having a blast on campus!! Today we welcome SIX ROOKIES! And welcomed into the Arctic Fox class are sweet siblings Teddy the Maltipoo and Max the Shih Tzu X, adorable Red, the Miniature Poodle and the super-soft Albus, the Pembroke Wlesh Corgi. Mimicking life’s ups and... downs, this morning the Arctic Fox (Albus (aka Albie), Byron, Fawn, Honey, Maggie, Max, Mickey, Nala, Noodle, Primrose, Red, Teddy, Torbjörn, Zaik), Jungle Coyote (Freya, Leroy, Stevie), Grassland Wolf (Bear, Billie Lauchlan, Bruno, Bubble, Charlie the King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, Ellie, Franklin, Harvey, Henry, Kimi, Lola, Luna the Border Collie X, Matilda, Mia, Molly, Moose, Murphy, Pepper, Poppy, Reggie, Sprout, Willow the Birthday Girl, Willow the Labrador Retriever, Yeezy), and Tundra Wild Dog (Dusty, Emma, Harlo, Meg, Mellow) classes, made their way under and over the hurdles in the Raceway. Then off to Mt Wolfhouse to reach new levels and take in the views of the campus. Checking in on their balance whilst having fun, the Golden Plains Wolf (Caesar, Charlie the Lab, Elsie, Frankie the Miniature Groodle, Frankie the Siberian Husky X, Gus, Hamish, Juno, Lupo), Desert Bear Dog (Buddy, Cujo, Fezzie, Huxley, Kailani, Raf), Desert Jackal (Moko), Highland Coyote (Audrey, Bianca, Blaze, Butchie, Coco, Luna "Loony", Prada, Willis), and Timberwolf (Alfie, Cleo, Jemima, Kobi, Layla, Mabel, Maisy, Marley, Rufus, Tatiana, Zhivago Alfie, Cleo, Jemima, Layla, Mabel, Maisy, Marley, Rufus, Tatiana, Zhivago) classes, were busy making their way over the seesaw this morning. After warming up those muscles, they were off to the Raceway to mimic Carl Lewis as they competed in the long jump event! Now it was time for all classes to come together to practice their meet-and-greets, and get their paws wet in the pool with our Adventure Coordinators! After all these adventures, everyone enjoyed a free-time period where rest was encouraged before taking on the afternoon activities. Today’s desensitisation class will involve handling, and in particular vet visits. It’s important for the pups to be comfortable with hands touching their ears, teeth and paws to facilitate the Doctor’s job and ensure your puppy remains healthy and happy!! The educational component will be taking us back to the classics, a sit-and-stay exercise, a simple yet fundamental command, ensuring our four-legged friend is listening and focused on us. @

Joining the Arctic Fox class are Winnie, a 3-month Cavoodle, Snoop, a 5-month Cavoodle, and sisters Sally, 5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier X, and Nala, 3-year-old Poodle! Louis, the 1-year-old English Golden Retriever and Baxter’s younger brother, is welcomed ...into the Tundra Wilkd Dog class. And making friends in the Timberwolf class is Billy, the handsome 1-year-old Labrador Retriever! With class in session, it’s time to kick off today’s activities with the the Golden Plains Wolf (Chet, Cooper, Kaiba, Loki, Mylo), Desert Bear Dog (Huxley, Mintie), Highland Coyote (Bindi, Kobi, LB, Maya), and Timberwolf (Billy, Daisy, Penny, Rupert) classes. With most of these pups already being well acquainted from previous campus visits, this morning has been a whole lot of catching up with old friends! This crew tackled a Sensory Challenge in Riverstone Pass feeling a range of textures under their feet including sand, rocks, rubber and grass. It was then off to the Raceway for an epic hurdle adventure where all their coordination skills were put to the test! Starting in Riverstone Pass this morning we the the Arctic Fox (Nala the Poodle, Sally, Snoop, Winnie, Benny, Herbie, Indi, Maple, Matinee, Nala the French Bulldog, Noodle, Vader), Jungle Coyote (Chase, Luna the French Bulldog, Tom), Grassland Wolf (Baxter, Honey, Astro, Baloo, Charlie, Frank, Kuma, Lelou, Leo, Max, Ruby, Teddy, Tilly Virginia, Whisky), and Tundra Wild Dog (Louis, Cocoa, Cookie, Dash, Pepper) classes. This crew kicked off their morning adventures with an over and under obstacle course in the Raceway. It was great to see these pups’ minds ticking as they decided whether to crawl or jump over the hurdle poles. Next up it was to Pioneers Wilderness to tackle an obstacle course set up by our Adventure Coordinators. Up and over they scurried as they raced to see who could complete the course in the fastest time. All pups then came together for a group social session! With so many new pups on campus, it was important to welcome them with open arms. This allowed all pups to practise appropriate meet and greet styles with a range of different pups! This awesome group of puppers then worked together to tackle the Mt Wolfhouse! Up, up and away they went with many doggos conquering the peak! Finally, after a crazy morning of energy it is time for a bit of R & R to prepare for this afternoon. Our educational focus this afternoon will be to the loud bangs of fireworks! We will be paring this loud sound with a positive association using the clicker. The click sound, signals to dogs that a treat or something rewarding is coming. We will be using the clicker to mark calm behaviour exhibited by our pups when they hear those scary fireworks bang! @

Now it was time for all classes to come together practice their meet-and-greets amongst all classes, these adventurous doggos are plunging into the pool to cool off. Cooling down and recharging their batteries, we had a free-time period where rest was encouraged before tackling this afternoon’s activities. This afternoon our desensitisation class will involve crutches. It’s more likely than not that your pup isn’t constantly exposed to these long sticks and they may find them a little frightening. We will work with crutches and the familiarisation of these aids, by slowly introducing to them to the pups. The educational component today will be practicing our loose lead walking. Being able to walk our pups calmly is a great joy in our lives. It’s also imperative that they are able to focus on us when called. Just like they request our undivided attention when they want cuddles, vice versa for when we’re out and about! @

02.01.2022 You know what day it is?? It’s FRI-YAAAY!!! @

01.01.2022 It’s the last day of Wolfhouse adventures for 2020, and what a year it’s been! One more sleep until Christmas and no doubt your doggos and puppers already have abundant gifts wrapped under the tree, or maybe they’ve already sniffed them out and opened them cheeky! Today we are welcoming three beautiful Rookies. Introducing the charismatic Dudley, a Pug X, that is joining the Grassland Wolf class. The beautiful Buddy, the German Shepard, that is having a great time in the Hig...hland Coyote class. And the uber-adorable Murphy, the Maltese X, is welcomed into the Arctic Fox class. While the smell of a glazed ham may be filling the air of your home and your nostrils, this morning the Arctic Fox (Benny, Charlie the Parson Russell Terrier, Charlie the Miniature Groodle, Coco-Belle, Doug, Emmie, Gus, Harriet, Murphy the Maltese X, Penny, Rafa, Vida, Wally, Winnie, Zsa Zsa), Jungle Coyote (Django, Freya, Harley, Harvey, Leroy), Grassland Wolf (Bailey the Shih Tzu X, Billie Lauchlan, Dudley, Grace, Guinness, Hugo, Lucie, Maggie, Matilda, Max, Murphy the Spoodle, Patrick, Pepper, Rosco, Ruby, Rufus the Dachshund, Tim, Toby, Yeezy), and Tundra Wild Dog (Tipper) classes got their snoots smelling the scent of the mink. They were then off to the Raceway to get to jumping over the hurdles. It’s important to get fit before having our bellies expand over the Christmas holidays!! We may not have a white Christmas in Brisbane, but the Golden Plains Wolf (Bailey the Golden Retriever, Bear, Bella, Charlie the Labrador, Chase, Kevin, Owen, Rafferty, Sadie), Desert Bear Dog (Fezzie, Haku, Raf, Todd), Desert Jackal (Archie the English Pointer X), Highland Coyote (Blaze, Buddy, Charlie the German Shepherd, Chester, Chilli, Coco, Duke, Foxy, George, Jazz, Kai, Lionel, Maya, Prada, Ranger, Ransom), and Timberwolf (Albert, Archie the Mastiff X, Barry, Isla, Kerbi, Maisy, Marley, Maverick, Rey, Rufus the English Staffordshire Bull Terrier X) classes started their day doing agility in the Raceway, and with a little imagination, it was like watching slalom skiing in the alps. They were then off to scale Mt Wolfhouse to enjoy the views of the campus, filled with Christmas trees! Now it was time for all classes to come together to practice their meet and greets and get their paws wet in the pool for the last Wolfhouse swim of 2020! After all these adventures, everyone enjoyed a free-time period where rest was encouraged before taking on the afternoon activities. To end the year and see how much all these pups have accomplished, we’ll be implementing an Obedience Pop Quiz. And our desensitisation today will involve Saint Nick! That’s right, the generous and jolly old man in a red suit, is making a special appearance onto Wolfhouse campus and making sure that all the good doggos and puppers are familiar with him for when he drops more gifts under the Christmas tree. @
