Bring on summer diving!! Fevers of Eagle Rays, Manta Rays (2 ID shots for @Project Manta - The manta rays of Australia), Leopard Rays, Blotched Fan Tail Rays, Shovel Nose Sharks, Whip Rays, Turtles, Giant schools of Trevallys, Barracuda and Bat Fish and of course the ever present Grey Nurse Shark (about 30 of them! ) Can't wait to get back out there tomorrow! #australiasbestsharkandraydive

13.01.2022 Au revoir Frenchies! We will be miss our French Dive master Yann Collin and Dive master intern Anthony Ablin! These lads are best mates and first did a dive together when they were 5! That’s how CMAS rolls! Also a big welcome to our new dive instructor Jana! #australiasbestsharkandraydive

13.01.2022 WOLF ROCK - DOUBLE ISLAND POINT A local Aboriginal legend says two adventuresome boys paddled their bark canoe out to sea and were never seen again. These rocks... are said to be the restless spirits of the lads and the event was used by elders to instil obedience into their children. Matthew Flinders recorded in his journal that he rounded Double Island Point in 'The Investigator' on Tuesday 27 July 1802 and took a depth sounding. He recorded the rocks lying between one and two miles offshore (about 2-3 km). Lt. E.P. Bedwell, R.N. conducted a detailed hydrographic survey of this part of Queensland's coast. His chart, produced in 1868 and received in Queensland 1869, is the first to show the name 'Wolf Rock'. There are three other pinnacles under the surface in 30 metres of water. The area is given special protection as it is a breeding area for the endangered grey nurse shark. Plenty of boats over the last two centuries have met their doom here. Coastguard Noosa (vhf 22 & 16) and Coastguard Tin Can Bay (vhf 16 & 80) cover this area for Marine assistance.

13.01.2022 Congratulations to Shohei Kishishita on getting his PADI deep diver speciality! Looks like he managed to get some sweet footage too!

12.01.2022 The highlight of the week were the aggregating Pink Whip Rays, they were at Manta Bommie for 6 days in a row and often had a Manta hanging out with them! Also stoked to find several patches of Damsel Fish eggs in the shallows being guarded by a feisty parent! We had another Bowmouth Guitar Shark encounter and plenty of Grey Nurse Sharks to keep the Shark lovers sweet, I even got pooed on by a Remora! All in all a great week of diving at Wolf Rock! :) #australiasbestsharkandraydive #citizenscience

12.01.2022 Great pictures!

09.01.2022 We are heading out tomorrow for the first time in 10 days and Grey Nurse Shark mating season should be in full swing! It is an exciting time to be diving Wolf Rock, the male sharks are very inquisitive which makes for up close interactions!! All of the Sharks are covered in brutal mating scars and if you are lucky you may even see the Sharks doing/attempting to do the deed!! Listen with the sound on!! Brutal! #matingseason #australiasbestsharkandraydive

07.01.2022 We have had challenging dive conditions with strong currents at Wolf Rock this week but we all know that strong currents mean epic diving and the diving has been EPIC!! The star of the show today were probably the Queensland Groupers (followed closely by the fevers of Eagle rays!) We have a Grouper aggregation at this time every year but I dont think we have ever seen as many as we did today! There must have been at least 30 Giant Queensland Grouper on the site hanging with t...he all the GNS, Leopard Sharks, Turtles and Blotched Fan Tail Rays etc etc!! We are expecting the current to back off a bit this weekend and we do still have spots available!! Give us a shout if you fancy an adventure of a life time!! #australiasbestsharkandraydive #landofthegiants #wolfrockdive #greenzones #rawfootage

07.01.2022 The full moon brought in Manta Rays!! These 2 beauties were kind enough to give us an ID shot for Project Manta - The manta rays of Australia It is coming to the end of our Manta Season , hopefully we get a few more sighting this month during their migration South to places like @mantalodge :) Shark numbers are building too about 30 on the site today! Oh yeah!! #australiasbestsharkandraydive #citizenscience
