It's more economical for us. We are a small, multi enterprise farm and every dollar coming through the Farm Gate is very valuable for us. We are a low input but high labour enterprise. It's the best way to change the food system! Having 1/4 a cow or 1/2 a pig in your freezer is a powerful way to support local and make your impact on the food system. 11.01.2022 We are here to drive change in the regions food system and aid local farmers to sell direct to the public. We will make processing easy for our farmers and aid them in building a relationship direct with their customer. We are a new, farm owned butchery. We are setting up with the primary goals of processing our own animals for our customers, developing a line of small goods and also processing beasts for other local farmers. ... We have a regenerative farm and are aspiring for nose to tail consumption. Chemical Nitrate & preservative free goods, nasty free cleaning agent and compostable cryovac bags are some of the benchmarks we are aspiring too. This is the perfect job for someone who wants to be more than a 'butcher'. If you want to take your craft to the next level and honour the animals you work on to the fullest, this could be the job for you. We are looking for someone who is approachable, honest and shares our values.

11.01.2022 A M I L E S T O N E We have had a bunch this year as we rapidly expand operations but I am REALLY excited about this one! The Eggmobile is on pasture 4 days behind our mob of cows. Our cows move to a new tight paddock every day, leaving behind a highly concentrated deposit of poop! ... The Eggmobile now swoops in behind them (72 hour break to give our beloved dung beetles a fighting chance) to sanitise the pastures! The chooks forage on the shorter grass, eat and scratch through the cows poop to eat insects and parasites living in there, deposit their own poop and to top it off they give us A grade eggs! 04.01.2022 Compost toilet is basically done! I fixed a roof with some metal after we took this pic. We used sheet iron that actually came off the roof of our butchery! Pretty cool to repurpose that on a fun way. Compost toilet is now operational and ready for your movements and contemplations
