25.01.2022 CALLING ALL MUSO'S - GET YOUR LIVESTREAM ON We're blown away by the creativity & resilience being shown by our music family during these testing times As we know every sector of the creative arts has been hammered by the restrictions in place due to COVID-19. ... We've worked with Hamish & the team at Aurora Show FX for close to a decade, which is one of the main reasons our sound & staging are up there with the best in the country for a small to medium sized fest. Hamish is not one to stand still & he's setup Pluto Entertainment in the festival 'off season' so muso's can stream a live show with all the best gear. THE BEST! Not only that he's offering these services for free - yep, free. They have all the paperwork sorted so you can travel etc & just do it. Email [email protected] for all the details.

25.01.2022 We our drummers!

24.01.2022 Wow!!! 4000 cans were donated back to Vinnies NSW from our fests this year. This makes us really happy ... The Station Newcastle - Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation

24.01.2022 It's been a VERY tough 12-months for the Music Industry - including our little big festival. Festival restrictions, bushfires & now COVID-19 have led to multiple festival cancellations with more to be announced over the coming months. The hard work that goes into running festivals, being a professional musician or sustaining a financially viable life within the industry is hard enough at the best of times. ... It's all getting so much harder & recovering losses for cancelled or compromised events will take a long time for many people or send them to the wall. We as a nation need to do more to support the arts & independent artists, event organisers, associated industries & workers in particular. One thing you can do if you're affected is fill out this form https://ilostmygig.net.au/i-lost-my-gig Another thing you can do is support your fave artists through THEIR websites. Artists know their best revenue & it's 9 times out of 10 directly through them rather than popular streaming platforms who often pay them a pittance. Do some walking through their pages beautiful people and show them some love ARIA.

23.01.2022 And again we say to you Gladys Berejiklian, John Barilaro... No way, no chance, not if we have anything to do with it

21.01.2022 Thanks for the coverage Krystal at The Advertiser, Cessnock. There is much more to come out about our relationship or lack thereof with Cessnock City Council & comments made by key staff about the future of the festival, plus sadly the RFS. We have worked extremely hard over 10 years to create a wonderful, safe, diverse & inclusive event in the 2nd most significant tourist region in the Cessnock LGA outside of Hunter Valley Wine Country - the Wollombi Valley.... The last 2 years have been a battle which we hoped wouldn't happen. We naively thought Cessnock City Council would be supportive of us, work with us to stay in our 'spiritual home', but in the end it was the exact opposite. You know you're up against it when the person representing you in the DA process says, "no one on council would really care if you stayed in Wollombi or not". Prior to submitting DA we had pretty much zero interaction with the council regarding Wollombi even though we were open to including them as 'Supported By'. We love going to some of the big concerts in the valley but the 'mecca' talked about by the Cessnock City Council is not one that includes cultural, community & independent music festivals. This needs to change. Visit Wollombi - Bob Pynsent - Mayor of Cessnock

20.01.2022 One of our fave bands at the moment is the awesome Salt & Steel who rocked out Wollombi Music Festival 2019 big time Some serious girlpower going on with this duo & two beautiful souls who kicked back at the fest engaging with the punters & the whole Wollombi experience. 20.01.2022 On a day that tested us all to within an inch of our festival loving lives this photo from yesterday has put a very big smile on our dial You probably all saw our funky as Auslan interpreters during the event & this photo is titled... 'Deaf doing it deaf!'... So great to include the deaf & hard of hearing community in live music events

20.01.2022 Declan Kelly Music bringing the good vibes.

20.01.2022 THE FUTURE OF WOLLOMBI - WE NEED YOU ADVICE! New Location - New Name - Let Us Know It's been a crazy few months post Wollombi 2019 & we're slowly working through options for the festival moving forward. ... As we mentioned in previous posts Wollombi in Wollombi is not a viable venture with such a limited capacity unless we significantly raise the cost of tickets. We have always prided ourselves on putting on a 'big little' festival with great production, a beautiful site & quality markets, food & all the other festival elements. This year was amazing, the best Wollombi ever, but when our request for an increase in capacity was rejected things got really tough. There is a real enthusiasm from larger local venues & surrounding areas to host Wollombi in 2021 including Maitland & the Central Coast, but we'd love your feedback on where you'd like to see us for the next 10 years! Please hit the link below & share your preferred outcome https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RM2HW22

20.01.2022 GOOD TIMES. We can’t wait to combine the rock & blues of Narara Music Festival with the folk, funk & groove of Wollombi Music Festival in 2021. Here's hoping or we'll just buckle in for 2022 ... With the COVID-19 climate changing like a winter’s day in Melbourne (sorry Victorian friends) we are being cautious about announcing anything until we truly know we can put on the kind of event we love to create & you deserve. Hang tight & enjoy the pics #musicfestivals #australianfestivals #goodtimes #rock #blues #funk #reggae #dub #folk #beautifulpeople

19.01.2022 In May 2017 we held our first reincarnation of Narara Music Festival at Mt Penang Parklands & what a bloody awesome festival it was!! It's a tough ride at the moment for everyone within the festival world & it's not getting any easier in the short to medium, potentially long term.... However, we're excited about bringing Narara Music Festival & Wollombi Music Festival together over 2 days in 2021 or 2022. Friday night will be our Narara night ALL rock & blues with our Retro Rumble & all classic hits Silent Disco. Saturday day/night will be Wollombi Music Festival which equals super sweet funk, soul, reggae & groove. Something to wet your appetite.

14.01.2022 Yaama everyone This week is National NAIDOC week. It's a big week for the Aboriginal community & the entire country as we reflect on the culture & achievements of our First Nation Peoples, as well as what we can do together to build greater understanding & better relationships.... The traditional culture of the land in which we hold our events are central to the way we run our events - it's in our festival DNA. Festival Director Adrian will be on Darkinjung Land in Wollombi today chatting with the team at Cranky Rock, Wollombi on how we will move forward in 2021. Exciting times #AlwaysWasAlwaysWillBe

11.01.2022 WOLLOMBI TO RETURN TO A NEW HOME ON SEPTEMBER 24 & 25 - 2021 Hi beautiful people! We've been pretty quiet since our 10th birthday festival last year, as is to be expected when anything turns 10 - unless of course it's a little human. ... They make lots of noise. Like many people in 'bush festival' land this summer we've had to regroup & work out what to do moving forward to maintain our event & prosper. We've been extremely open about, though selling out in record time in 2019, we ended up losing money due to a variety of factors, the largest being an inability to scale up our event in terms of crowd numbers due to site restrictions. Our goal is to run a 2000 ticket event & maintain the beauty, energy & intimacy that is Wollombi. We have something very special no doubt. So we've made the decision after our post festival survey of 2019 to move the event from Wollombi & are currently working with 2 fantastic purpose built venues to house Wollombi ongoing. We can't announce who they are just yet but one is in the Hunter Valley & the other is on the Central Coast. It is most likely we will end up on the Central Coast. In terms of the name we will be keeping it as it is most well known - Wollombi. After 10 years we have grown to be more than just a place & with Wollombi meaning 'meeting place' we can’t think of a more fitting name to continue our journey with. 2021 will see a blending of our other event the Narara Music Festival with Wollombi. The Friday night will be more rock, blues & psych, including our epic Retro Rumble & the Saturday more folk, world, reggae, funk & soul. 2020 will be all about working through some financial stuff from 2019 & then we're going to smash it out at our new home in 2021! Come along for the ride. The Wollombi crew

09.01.2022 Digging this tune BIG time from Stefan Hauk & one of the Wollombi family Lachy Doley Sweet!!

08.01.2022 ! ' & ' . Hi everyone - hope you're all doing ok in these crazy times.... 2020 has been a real dud we know, but with spring has come the smell of sweet jasmine & the wishful promise we can bring our version of good times back in a sustainable & enjoyable way. We've been really upfront about the struggles we faced in 2018/19 with an unsupportive council & the RFS putting insurmountable restrictions on our safe little bush festival. But it's time to put this behind us & with the COVID situation comes an opportunity to reimagine how we can run multiple smaller events in our beloved Wollombi & then look towards a full festival relaunch in 2022. So we've had prelim discussions with the wonderful Pyne's (Lindsay in the hat) at Cranky Rock, Wollombi & we will be putting on some 'Wollombi Presents' shows in Autumn & Spring 2021. These shows will have a max capacity of 250-300 people & will follow all COVID guidelines as they stand at the time. All the festival vibes will be there but 1 night only (camping available), single stage, quality food, well stocked bar, with smaller but bloody amazing lineups of Australian acts. We're excited & we know you will be too. These shows will sell out. Big love & stay tuned

05.01.2022 Sacred land & we will stand strong together to stop any desecration Sorry Gladys Berejiklian you’ve not read the mood on this one.

05.01.2022 Narara = 'Black Snake' We've had a few folks ask why we've decided to run with two festivals in the Narara Music Festival & Wollombi moving forward rather than just merge into one. The simple answer is because they're same-same but so-so different.... In 2017 we (re)launched a strictly rock n' blues festival on the Central Coast because we LOVE our rock Narara is all about crunching guitars, heavy hitters on the sticks, denim & leather - old school. Without doubt the 2017 & 2018 festivals were amazing events & we want to keep that energy going. All our events are full of community, good vibes & good people but we really look forward to bringing you a stand alone Narara at our beloved Cranky Rock, Wollombi. Stay tuned beautiful people.
