25.01.2022 Congratulations to 19 yr old Adam Thorp, Federal GC in the ACT winner of the 2020 Wollongong Open sponsored by Fenton & Associates Adam won on the 2nd hole of sudden death playoff against Paul Fairall (The Vale) and Luke Bartlett (Goulburn) after they all shot 67 (3under). Thank you to the volunteers Ralph Stevenson Peter Sainsbury & Sam Vlandys for helping Ray and course staff at 4am. The course was in fantastic shape guys well done! Thanks to our on course rules official Greg Smart and to the Lions Club for breakfast!

05.01.2022 Dear Members, Yesterday, Golf NSW and Golf Australia advised that golf courses needed to close. As a result of this advice Wollongong Golf Club made the decision to close. This advice was based on the information and advice which was available at the time. This morning the NSW Minister for Sport, Geoff Lee, announced that golf courses can remain open. The website of the NSW Office of Sport has now been updated to clarify that golf and other sports can be played provided it is... undertaken in compliance with the Public Health Orders, meaning that people must not participate in groups greater than two persons at any point in time. https://sport.nsw.gov.au/novel-coronavirus-covid-19 As noted above, the NSW Governments advice has subsequently changed, thereby permitting golf courses to continue operating. Wollongong Golf Club will continue to follow the advice from the Government and we ask that all Members continue to practice social distancing as directed. As such Wollongong Golf Course & Proshop will reopen from Thursday 2nd April under strict social distancing rules. Information for golf bookings: - All time sheets will be set up for groups of 2 from 1st tee only - Medley (Mens & Ladies separate comps) competitions will run on - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday 7 am - 2 pm - Social play Monday & Friday - Tomorrow's time sheet (Thurs 2nd) is now open for online booking - All medley comp time sheets will open online 2 days prior at 6 pm for Members to book, visitors may book the day after.
