12.01.2022 Congratulations to Will Cook who will run out for his 100th senior game for the Lions today. A graduate of the junior club, he won flags with the club in 2017 and 2019, and last year won the John McDonald trophy for Men’s Premier Division Best & Fairest. Catch Will in his 100th today, 2:10pm at North Dalton Park.

09.01.2022 Coaching Announcement The Wollongong Lions are delighted to announce that Mark ‘Funky’ O'Rourke has been appointed as our Division One Men’s Coach for the 2020 AFL South Coast season. Funky is a Wollongong Swans junior and former Wollongong Lion with almost 100 games with the club. From there he has gained a wealth of experience at a number of clubs where he has plied his craft in Premier Division football around the area for many years.... Funky is an accomplished and well respected junior coach, having worked at both Club and Representative level. He now has a desire to develop his coaching at senior level. He brings with him knowledge, experience and a thirst for learning, teaching and development. Funky is a wonderful acquisition for the club. Please join me in welcoming Mark, Tori and his family (back) to the Wollongong Lions! Training continues this Monday, 6pm at Thomas Dalton Park. 05.01.2022 The Wollongong Lions are pleased to announce that in 2021 we will be fielding 2 women's sides. This decision has been built on our increase in numbers every season, as well as creating a broader pathway for our growing juniors to transition into senior footy. It also creates an opportunity for players new to the game, to develop their skills and knowledge. This also means the club is on the lookout for coaches and staff for this team. These will be fun skills and games sessions with our girls to give you a taste of Aussie Rules Football. 04.01.2022 Congratulations to Life Member, Dual-Premiership player, and all round good bloke Joshua Tier, who will run out for his 250th game for the Lions this afternoon. Tiery is a highly respected man on and off the field across the whole AFL South Coast competition. His versatility has been an asset with much success as a key forward, and as an integral part of many back lines. We wish him all the best in his 250th today, and look forward to his next milestone. You can catch him in action today at 2.50pm at NDP in the first week of finals footy. He’ll be the one warming up two hours before the first bounce.
