11.01.2022 Remembering all the joy that Tim (aka Chucks) and The Correspondents brought to us and our audiences over many years. We first brought the band out to WOMAD Aust and NZ in 2013, followed by a return mini-tour to Falls Festival, the Prince (Melb) and Adelaide Festival Centre over NYE 13/14. Back at WOMADelaide in 2019, they were supposed to play one show only but because they liked Adelaide so much they wanted to hang around for a few days. Lucky they did! A surprise cancellation left us with a spot to fill, which was sorted mid-festival in about half an hour. Chucks and Mr Bruce couldn't have been more wonderful about it and their 2nd show was incredible! Tim was a genuinely lovely guy, a gentleman, a multi-talented musician and an amazing live DJ. Sending our thoughts and love to friends, family and all that knew him.

11.01.2022 The live events industry is on red alert Today we #lightitinred to stand with all our friends and colleagues in the live events industry, and the huge supply chain from production, audio, lighting and stage crew, to logistics, transport, tech and many other highly skilled industry professionals and businesses that makes our industry and WOMADelaide possible. The #WeMakeEventsAus movement calls on the government to offer continued support to the sector, most of whom have had... no work since mid-March with little likelihood of restarting until well into 2021. Without additional support for the supply chain, Australia is in danger of losing its global position as a world leader in world-class events, and all of our incredible creatives and technicians could lose their livelihoods for good. Follow We Make Events Australia and head to their website for info on how you can help out the people and businesses that bring to life the vitally important events we love and will need more than ever in the (hopefully) near future. Big love to our production partner NW Group for their ongoing expertise and for lighting up the office tonight! #wemakeevents

07.01.2022 Some nice numbers from Green Music Australia on our most recent initiative working with bettercup. and B-Alternative on our Green + Global ambitions! In 2001 we were the first major event in Australia to adopt a waste management strategy that meant only biodegradable and recyclable wastes were produced by festival goers. Changing to reusables in 2018 has been another positive step towards our goal of being a zero waste-to-landfill event, and we thank you all for supporting it! https://www.womadelaide.com.au/about/green-global
