17.01.2022 Unreal Fruit An Exhibition of Garden Sculpture by Gaby Porter in the Wombarra Sculpture Garden Exhibition date:... Saturday 17th, 18th and 19th October, 11:00-5:00 This exhibition is inspired by the wonderful shapes of fruit and vegetation. Fruit, seeds and their pods are inspiring shapes and we all relate to them every day. Pumpkins, onions, pears, they make us smile, but these particular specimens are a little unreal, and a lot larger than life. This combined with Gabys love of sculpture in the garden. Gardens are becoming more important in our lives, providing us with a much needed connection to nature and all gardens are enhanced by having a focal point, something to draw the eye, and sculpture has always made a strong impact. These original ceramic tiled sculptures provide that with their colour and form. The exhibition is set in the Wombarra Sculpture Garden just over one hour south of Sydney, there is no entry fee to the garden for the duration of the exhibition. 10.01.2022 To My Prime Minister Mr Tony Abbott My name is Baxter Dick Evans. Im living in Singapore but Im originally from Australia. I have been fascinated with Australias sites. Im not very pleased about your idea of that giant coal port of yours in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef. Neither am I pleased about the dredging. I know in your perspective its a good idea to carry on with your reckless plan, but is it worth losing one of Australias most prized and beautiful places?... Why the Great Barrier Reef? It is the biggest and most beautiful reef in the world and it is in your country, and youre willing to just make it a big slop of mud. Will you really let all the tourist attractions, jobs, beauty and animals just go like that? Do you really think your citizens will see you as a great Prime Minister if you let this happen? Im now thinking about things I dont normally think about. Usually Im thinking about school and friends but now Im thinking about the Great Barrier Reef. I am now worried and mad at the same time. Please just listen to me and think is all this worth it? Think about it. Unkind regards Baxter Dick Evans age 10
