25.01.2022 The beginning of something great... The start of a new chapter... Spring has arrived and with it brings a new season. The next stop on our road trip is at the rolling Canola fields in Northern Victoria. The brilliant yellow flowers are not only eye-catching but are the perfect ‘kick-starter’ for our little nectar collectors. They will spend the next 3-4 weeks harvesting and breeding, setting themselves up for the season to come. Honey produced by the bees on Canola isn’t suited as a honey to spread on your toast or drizzle on your porridge. However, it provides a great source of energy to boost the hives and get them back into the swing of things after a long cold winter. Keep an eye out for our next post, we’ll be flying high as we search the trees for more delicious honey!

05.01.2022 As the weather warms, our excitement builds! Warm days means Australia’s Eucalyptus trees begin to open their buds to reveal their sweet nectar that our little bees devour. And best of all, produces the great Australian honey we all enjoy . But, just before we head to the trees we like to treat our bees with some nectar from the orange orchards. So here we are, in Northern Victoria lapping up the sunshine and collecting some delicious Orange Blossom honey. A sweet clear honey with citrus notes that is sure to be a favourite of many. We’ll have our new season Orange Blossom in store very soon .

02.01.2022 With the end of Winter nearing, and the new season approaching, our little bees are beginning to buzz! It’s all starting to become busy here again for our little producers of your favourite Wombat Honey. Their first stop is at the almond plantations in Northern Victoria. Where they play a very important role in the pollination of the almond trees. Without our bees we would be in a very sticky situation, with no almonds and many other foods that require pollinating. Our bees will be busy spreading pollen near and far for the next two weeks before they head off to begin honey production. Keep an eye out for our next post, for where our bees will be flying off to next.
