21.01.2022 As a leader, your people should be excited about their work and eager to make a difference, not to make a living but to make a difference. Thats the essence of great leadership, and as John Mackey puts it, if you are lucky enough to be someones employer, you have a moral responsibility to ensure your people are eager to come to work every day. #leadershipfirst #inspiration #giffordthomas #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #greatleadership #womensleadership #inspirationalwomenleadership #management #executivesandmanagement

20.01.2022 "I once had a boss who decided that, despite very strong performance, they didnt like someone on our team and wanted to see them gone. They didnt have the ability to fire them, but looped the employee out of emails and conversations, talked poorly about them behind their back, and disregarded any good performance. Not only is that unethical (and possibly illegal), but it also made actually getting our teams work done way, way harder." I read this story on the Muse, and imm...ediately the warning bells in my mind went off because that environment is becoming or has become a toxic place to work. No company wants to learn that their culture is a toxic one, according to the Forbes Coaches Council; unfortunately, it can and does happen: When bad behaviors go unchecked and become the norm, they can start to permeate throughout the dynamics of an organization. If youve noticed your employees starting to lose their motivation or regularly bicker with each other, it could be the early signs of larger problems. #management #motivation #leadershipfirst #executivesandmanagement

17.01.2022 Many of us spend a big part of our time at work. This means that the workplace and our work can impact our mental health; both positively and negatively. Workplaces that promote mental health awareness and wellbeing are places where everyone feels supported and able to do their best work, regardless of whether or not they have a mental health issue. Work can positively impact our mental health and wellbeing by feeling connected, involved and gaining a sense of purpose. Howev...er, there are times when the workplace may adversely affect our mental health and ability to do our job. Work-related stress or job stress occurs when someone feels that the demands of their role are greater than their abilities, skills or coping strategies. A certain amount of stress is a good thing, but when it becomes excessive and prolonged this can be a risk factor for developing mental health issues. There are little things we can do to help our mental health and wellbeing at work as well as trying to find a positive work-life balance. #mentalhealthawareness #healthandwellbeing #wellness #selfcare #wecan #together #support #everyone #involved #stressmanagement #awareness

17.01.2022 When your most passionate employees become quiet, its a signal that something is out of alignment, and as the leader, this is something you must observe and act on immediately. People dont lose their motivation and inspiration overnight; its always a combination of small and big things that creeps into the organization slowly and consistently over time. When you have a team passionate, inspired, and motivated to help the company achieve its vision while fulfilling its purpose, you must do everything in your power to ensure that this team keeps this vibe. Otherwise, you run the risk of pushing away great talent while settling for mediocrity. #leadership #leadershipdevelopment #alignment #culture #vision #teams #purpose #mediocrity #teammate #support #passion #personalgrowth #challenges #motivated #vision

16.01.2022 When leaders are honest about their shortfalls and can learn from their mistakes, they earn respect and, along the way, create an environment of transparency. As any great leader will tell you, they have made many mistakes. They will admit that it was the collective insight from bad decisions that taught them invaluable lessons and how to see opportunities in everything and anticipate the unexpected more quickly according to Glen Llopis Dont dwell on your mistakes, learn ...from them, and use the experiences to propel you and your team to even higher heights. #leadership #leadershipfirst #safetychick #womeninleadership #wombatsafety #honesty #respect #lessonstolearnfrom #steppingstones

14.01.2022 The Adventure starts NOW!! Watch this space; more information to come.

13.01.2022 I have been an employee, a supervisor, a mentor and a manager and during my Professional Career I have found there are certain principles we should take with us to our job no matter what. However, what were once my top 10 principles are now 11 as I recently added one (a very important one): 1. No job is more important than your family.... 2. Always make time for exercise. 3. Always be respectful and listen to everyones opinion. 4. Hire people who are passionate and thrive on change. 5. Accept that you dont know everything and you never will. 6. Always communicate and collaborate. 7. No-one should judge you for asking the obvious questions. 8. Diversity matters build your teams accordingly. 9. Use your annual leave and enjoy it. 10. Trust your team to deliver support and supervise them - dont control them. 11. Dont forget where you can from - we all need to start somewhere. #diversity #support #acceptance #teamwork #yourteam #employeeengagement #healthandwellbeing #involved #selfcare #culture #passionate #opinionsmatter #youneverknow

12.01.2022 Imagine a world where every person matters. A world full of caring work environments in which people can realize their gifts, apply and develop their talents, and feel a genuine sense of fulfillment for their contributions. Everyone should have the opportunity to use their gifts and talents toward a shared vision and everyone deserve to work for a company that truly cares about them. ~ Bob Chapman #leadership #womeninleadership #development #empowerment #bobchapman #inspirational #wombatsafetyaustralia

10.01.2022 How you treat people says a lot about you, and your leadership will be judged on how you inspire, influence, and motivate your people. It has nothing to do with how much money you have or your position or your title; it has nothing to do with that. Its all about inspiring people to believe that they can achieve anything beyond their own limiting belief of themselves. According to Inky Johnson, anybody who has direct contact with people daily, thats an opportunity to change someones life. Dont ever pass up a chance to be of encouragement to other people, dont ever pass up an opportunity to inspire someone because the more you make sure that somebody elses life is okay, God will always make sure that your life is okay.

09.01.2022 There is no such thing as avoiding failure. There is only recovering from it. Youve dreamt enough. Now its time to do. Youve planned enough, so now its time to pursue. Until you take the step, make a move, youll never know if this is the place where you are supposed to be or the thing that you are supposed to do. Time may be moving forward while you wait. But your destiny is standing still. ... #wombatsafetyaustralia #leadership #safetychick #womeninleadership #strong #brave #pushforward #dream #succeed #keepgoing #takeachance #wa

08.01.2022 Exceptional leaders are the ones who stand up for their people and support them when they are experiencing their most challenging moments. They also encourage and push their people to take on bigger challenges. Exceptional leaders treat you as you deserve to be treated: With dignity and respect. They dont strike you down with belittling comments, and never intentionally try to place you in an embarrassing or demeaning position in front of others, whether colleagues or clie...nts. They show a genuine interest in and concern for others. They ask you, "How are you?" or "Hows your family?" And then they listen and express genuine concern. Exceptional leaders always find time to express their appreciation for the work their team is doing and have this unique ability to inspire and motivate people to believe in something beyond their own limiting thinking.

08.01.2022 As leaders, we are often taught that we should try to look fearless, calm, invincible, and perfect. Truth? Theres no such thing as an ideal human being, so when someone is working with a leader who appears too calm and collected, theyre automatically suspicious. So own up to it, open yourself up and show people who you really are. Tell your team about times you tried and didnt quite reach your goal, and what you learned from it. Say to them openly: Were doing this, and its scary. But Im ready to face that fear because I believe in you, and I believe well succeed together. Thats real. And thats the road to having people believe in you right back. #leadership #womeninleadership #human #teamwork #goals #forgingforward #learning #growth #wombatsafetyaustralia #perth #wa

08.01.2022 Leadership is never about tearing people down and making people feel less than themselves. Leadership is all about people, its about inspiring people to believe that the impossible is possible, its about developing and building people to perform at heights they never imagine. When you treat employees like they are making a difference, they will.
