25.01.2022 Part 1 Design your Dream Life series Becoming Unstuck ... 27th of Feb at 5.30. Lake View Hotel For as long as she can remember, Vanessa (Ness) always felt like a 'country girl in a city girl's body'. When the call to move 'bush' became louder than the rational voice in her head, Ness made the leap. In tow were her husband, Trevor, and red heeler Maggie. That was 2016. In the last 3 1/2 years, Ness has has made a 180 degree pivot: from an unfulfilling and mostly unhappy career in HR, to regional journalism, community and economic development. In her talk, Ness will talk about overcoming the 'Cinderella' complex (waiting for rescue), and how to take calculated leaps of faith every day - that will help us achieve our inner calling and dreams.

22.01.2022 GETTING UNSTUCK Presented by: Vanessa Wiltshire Four years ago, I couldn't find a job for the life of me. Actually, I *could*, it just wasn't the kind of job I wanted. Reluctant to go back to HR, I'd try anything.... Forty degree days were spent on the Mornington Peninsula in a hot commercial kitchen and cafe. Dumping left over seafood and rubbish into cavernous bins. It was those days I would pay the console operator at the local petrol station in 10c pieces, enough fuel to get myself to and from work. Clearly a lot has happened between then and now, I've had the benefit of wonderful mentors and the support of generous family members and friends to turn my life around. I'm so grateful. I couldn't do it alone. When I realised, after about 18 months of 'trying the same thing but expecting different results', I knew something radical was required. I knew I'd have to change from the inside out. Change me, to change my reality. I'm a visual person, and I could see myself wrapped in a tight spider web. Rather than continue kicking, I literally, one day, sat on the lounge room floor and stopped. Closed my eyes and saw myself sliding out of it. I did this several times. Of course this was the first step, a basic one. But important nonetheless. It was the beginning of a long journey. Truthfully it doesn't end, you just get more skilled at creating the next steps. If you feel stuck or trapped, and aren't sure of the way 'out', stop fighting. You don't have to know what the escape hatch is, you just have to have to stay open....and trust the window will present. Next instalment coming. Cheers, Ness PS Bonus points if you can tell me where this photo was taken :)

03.01.2022 Part 2 26th of March at 5.30 pm Lake View Hotel ... Design your Dream Life series Anne Henshall has been a Bendigo resident for the past twenty-four years and has almost made it to being a local. Anne describes herself as the eternal apprentice taking on roles and businesses over her 41 years in the workforce and learning ‘on the job’. These include being Chief of Staff of the Bendigo Advertiser, working in health promotion with Community Health, setting up the Business re-Education Centre, developing, managing or producing events such as the Bendigo Writers Festival, Bendigo Easter Festival, the Kids Character Carnival, Ned-A New Australian Musical and more. Anne has been on the Board of Variety Victoria, the Bendigo Trust and has recently been appointed as a board member of Arena Theatre. Her last paid employment was as Marketing Manager of Bendigo’s beautiful theatres a role she loved for 9 years. After years of jumping between a myriad of fantastic jobs and owning her own businesses Anne has taken on a new challenge becoming one of the first licensed Bucket List Coaches in the world. Now in fourteen countries, Bucket List Coaching is a new and innovative way of living life on purpose. IT’S ALL ABOUT THE ‘WHY’ A Bucket List is so much more than a ‘to do list’. But WHY would you put something on a Bucket List and how does that help you and staff in your business. Anne will share her story and why she believes that fulfilment outside the business translates directly to performance inside the business.
