19.01.2022 Thanks to the members of FFA Congress who supported us for qualifying membership. We're delighted with our 16.1% support as it was more than we thought! We'll keep trying to explain the difference between unelected reps that are quota driven (which is better than nothing) & actual democracy. The more voices advocating for women and girls in our sport, the better. As we've made clear from the outset, we're happy to work with all. We want to see football truly welcome everyone. #WomeninFootball #nomoregrassceiling

12.01.2022 CALLING FOR COMMITTEE NOMINATIONS & AGM In the 15 months since we were established, we've planned so much, done some of it, and still have more to do. But with one year gone by, it's time for our first annual general meeting (AGM) and we're inviting all members to attend, and/or nominate themselves or someone they know for the committee, and/or send a proxy form for voting.... The AGM will be held via Zoom on Monday 21 September at 7.30pm, and is for members only. 10.01.2022 Great podcast from The Ladies League (Christina Trajesvski & Rose Valente). Thoroughly enjoyed listening to Alen Stajcic, with his 20+ years in Women’s Football, discuss WWC, the hardships for women leading to today, the future & what needs to be done to ensure we keep producing the talent. Also Brodie from Matildas Active. Brodie gives a run down of the history of the Matildas Active support along with their philosophy and intentions moving forward. Have a listen

06.01.2022 WOMEN’S FOOTBALL: COMPLEXITIES OF THE SPORT via The Football Pink. As humans, we like what we like. It is totally fine to enjoy the men’s game and not the women’s and vice versa. Essentially whilst it is the same sport, following the same rules, it is played very differently and that’s okay. What is not okay, is the ill-informed, sexist and misogynist views that eclipse’s the women’s game. A bit more respect and understanding of why the woman game is different would go a long way to accepting it and not viewing it as a hindrance to men’s game. Truthfully it’s nice to see more sport being played by females and being shown on the t.v. In an age where youngsters are less active, the more sport that is shown and inspires the next generations can only be a good thing.

06.01.2022 ‘LET’S HAVE EQUALITY WITHIN THE WOMEN’S GAME BEFORE WE WORRY ABOUT EQUALITY WITH MEN' via The Women’s Game

05.01.2022 Today Kim Ng was named by the Miami Marlins to be the first woman general manager in baseball history. After 30 years in the game, she will be the first woman and first Asian American to lead a front office. Kim’s rise to the top is a story of devotion to her craft and hard work familiar to many women. I entered Major League Baseball as an intern and, after decades of determination, it is the honor of my career to lead the Miami Marlins as their next General Manager, Kim shared in a statement. When I got into this business, it seemed unlikely a woman would lead a major league team, but I am dogged in the pursuit of my goals. Congratulations to Kim on breaking this glass ceiling and thank you for inspiring women and girls around the country to fearlessly pursue our goals.
