19.01.2022 Its just over 6 WEEKS to Xmas and that time of the year when people start considering their Xmas gifting. Lets work together to encourage people to buy 'vouchers/experiences' for SA Hotels rather than shopping 'online & offshore'. Promote your hotel gift vouchers on your websites, Facebook, Instagram! There is no better gift that an 'experience' in a year where we have been heavily restricted. Here's to supporting local and helping our hotel industry, hospo workers, their families and the SA economy. #sahotels #supportlocal #vouchers #experiences

14.01.2022 Members would be aware that the Australian Government has launched a smartphone app, COVIDSafe. This app seeks to speed up the process of identifying people who have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, quickly stopping further spread. The COVID-19 Tracking app will play a crucial role in giving hotels the flexibility to open. It will go a long way to satisfy health professionals that there will be the ability to effectively track and trace in the event... of exposure. Prime Minister Scott Morrison has flagged the app as being essential for Australia to be able to ease restrictions across the country. The AHA|SA urges all our members to support and download the COVIDSafe App. We also encourage you to share and promote the app amongst your employees and patrons and via your social media pages. This is about our hotels being seen as safe and as controlled as possible. The more we can satisfy health professionals that our venues can operate safely, the more likely we will see restrictions eased. Members are encouraged to use their social media pages to promote the app to their staff and patrons also. #sahotels #weareinthistogether https://www.covidsafe.gov.au/ See more

12.01.2022 Updated Guidelines on Trading Restrictions for Licensed Venues The Premier has just announced that as of 4.30pm today, Friday 22 May ALL licensed venues, including hotels, are able to trade with the following conditions: - Seated dining with a meal only - with 10 patrons inside and 10 patrons outdoor, i.e 20 in total. - Alcohol can be served with a meal - Only 1 person per 4sqm... - Social distancing of 1.5m must be maintained in the venue where possible. This announcement ends what has caused much confusion over recent days. The AHA|SA has strongly been advocating that there should not be a distinction between restaurants and cafes and the food service offered by hotels, bars, licensed clubs, on-licences, wineries etc. The AHA|SA welcomes this announcement by the SA Government. 10.01.2022 The South Australian Premier Steven Marshall has announced this morning the replacement of the current 1 person per 4 sqm formula (25%) to a more useful 1 person in 2sqm (50%). This new calculation will apply to trading on Monday 29 June. This new formula will apply to all areas/rooms of a venue. The AHA|SA welcomes this new arrangement on a further step to restoring viability and jobs. #sahotels

06.01.2022 It’s time to allow people in SA to resume standing up when having a drink! Whether at a local footy oval, an organised function or networking event or simply down at the local pub, club or your favourite bar! South Australians did enjoy being able to stand up and drink for around five weeks from 29 June to 5 August. It got removed for fear of a community transmission of the virus - one that can’t be traced. That proved to be a false alarm. It’s time to restore standing up w...hen having a drink. Remember SA is approaching 100,000 trained COVID Marshals with probably 25k just in hospitality. There’s been no community transmission of the virus since March 20. Hospitality can still only operate to 50% maximum capacity. Safe distancing obligations remain in place. It’s time to allow sensible practices in controlled premises....like your local! #sahotels See more

05.01.2022 COVID-Safe Plan for Step 2 Plus AHA|SA Members are advised that not all businesses will need to complete a revised COVID-Safe Plan for Step 2 Plus, which comes into effect this Friday 19 June. When creating their original COVID-Safe Plan, businesses were required to list all rooms or spaces that would be open to patrons, as well as the area of those rooms. If these details will not change, no new plan will be needed. Room allowances will increase to 75 people as part of Step ...2 Plus but the limit of one person per 4 square meters will remain. This means that businesses with smaller areas may not be able to increase their maximum patronage. However, some businesses with large areas will be able to accommodate more patrons. The form to complete a revised COVID-Safe Plan will be available shortly on the MEMBERS SECTION of the AHA|SA website https://www.ahasa.com.au/coronavirus For any questions please contact us 8232 4525 See more
