On 21 November 1997, small-scale fishers from across the world formed a global movement and set sail for a long journey to protect nature and their human rights. 06.01.2022 National NAIDOC week started on the 8th November and will conclude on the 15th November. This year’s theme Always Was, Always Will Be. recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first fishermen, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists. NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country and to celebrate and take pride in having the oldest continuing cultures on the planet. #alwayswasalwayswillbe #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek2020
