10.01.2022 Advice from the Law Society:

09.01.2022 Today is International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers Day. This year it is more important than ever to stand with sex workers. On this day each year, sex workers and allies around Australia join together against the stigma, discrimination and violence that occur at three times the rate in a criminalised environment like South Australia. WLASA and other allies also recognise the intersectionality of sex workers oppression and the disproportionate effect stigma and discrimination have on the LGBTQIA+, Aboriginal and CALD workers in Australia's sex industry.

03.01.2022 It’s NAIDOC week, with the theme of always was, always will be. We celebrate the tens of thousands of years of achievement by First Nations people and acknowledge the ongoing connection to the land on which we live and work. We especially celebrate the achievements of First Nations women lawyers, such as Wannyi/Kalkadoon woman Sandra Creamer who was admitted as a lawyer after raising her kids as a single mum. She says:... The world is changing and we are becoming more diverse I would like to see more women and people of different nationalities in leadership roles. I have hope for us as Indigenous peoples in this country. There are young people who are being a voice for us. As I see it, the road is hard but it was harder for those who had to break the glass ceiling for us. I would advise any Indigenous woman or other person who has a dream to follow it.
