23.01.2022 So much more! . . . This is not just a time in women’s lives when they can experience difficult symptoms.... . . . Estrogens play a role in almost all cells and tissues in the body, so the reduction in estrogen levels around menopause has important implications for women’s health. . . . While the combined impact of ageing and menopause is considerable, the more we understand about this phase the more we can empower women in making lifestyle changes that will support their health through the menopausal transition and the rest of their lives. . . . We are so excited to hear Dr Rhonda Anderson speak at our inaugural Womens Health Symposium. Follow us, like us and join our mailinglist to be kept upto date with any future events! There will be plenty more in the near future. @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia See more
22.01.2022 Everyone knows what it is like to feel nervous before a job interview or an important exam. Does this mean we all know what it is like to be pervasively anxious or have an anxiety disorder? . . . Some aspects of anxiety are part of our universal human experience, so it's easy to dismiss or oversimplify anxiety when it's noticed in others and ourselves. ... . . . Anxiety really refers to a pervasive, disquieting sense that all is not well, felt both in body and mind. Anxiety manifests in all kinds of ways including panic attacks, and it interferes with clear thinking, concentration and memory, decision making, sleeping, digestion, and emotion and stress regulation to name a few! . . . Women seem to experience anxiety at a higher rate than men. Most women who identify anxiety in themselves also tend to judge themselves for it, which means that discussions should be handled with care, but not avoided. . . . Given the increasing prevalence, chronicity, and impact of anxiety, it is important to understand what problematic anxiety is and what it isn't when you work with women. . . . Anna will be exploring the different types of anxiety, what to look out for, how you can talk about it, and when to refer on at our inaugural Womens Health Symposium.
