18.01.2022 As today is Global Talent Acquisition Day, were covering some of those critical decisions that can make or break your business. Lets start with the importance of teams. Whether you work in your business solo, or have just a few staff, you have a team! If youre working solo, its like you still have a supportive network who are assisting on a day-by-day basis. If you are managing staff in your business, supporting your team with everything they need to perform their role is... something you must do! When a team feels valued and respected, they are more likely to go above-and-beyond for you, and you are likely to see less turnover in your staff. How do you get the right team? It starts with making the right hire! Were lucky in Womens Network Australia to have a number recruitment specialists who can help with these types of decisions. It is important when hiring that you take the process very seriously, do thorough reference checks and be sure the person will fit in with your already established team. Last but not least, once your team is established and your business is functioning well, its time to succession plan. Things change and you cant be expecting your staff to be around forever. You need to ensure that if any member of your team was to leave tomorrow, someone else could pick up the job and run with it. A good team will understand the importance of this process and not feel as though they need to hold things back to ensure they remain needed. Talent acquisition is one of the hardest, yet most rewarding parts of managing a team. What are your tips for acquiring great staff?
