24.01.2022 Having support during the postnatal period is vital and we can't argue that Kate has plenty of this! Yet it is important to remember that mental health and the challenges of motherhood do not discriminate and even those who appear to have things easier than others can and do struggle too.

23.01.2022 As someone who often relies on close friends or family to help out in situations where I am sick, one of the kids is sick, or I have been held back at work, we need workplaces to be more supportive of Dads' responsibilities to their families too.

23.01.2022 Heading back to work tomorrow after a busy time entertaining my boys during the school holidays... reminded in this article of the juggle ahead! Trying to be organised when I am not a naturally organised person, expectations that I need to be on top of everything (involved in school events, healthy school lunches, everyone up-to-date with their homework...all whilst giving my all to my clients at work) when in reality no mother can be, and daydreaming about how I will of cou...rse find that extra bit of time (that doesnt seem to exist) to exercise, eat well, and take a bath when experience tells me I usually would rather flop down on to the couch and engage in mindless activities to unwind... I am giving myself permission to just do the best that I can do. Some days I will get it altogether, most days I will not, but everyone and everything is OK in spite of this. Good enough is actually more than enough. See more

22.01.2022 It is World Eating Disorders Day and whilst you may be wondering what this has to do with motherhood, I thought it would be a good time to raise the awareness that for lots of women who suffer from an eating disorder or who have recovered, pregnancy and motherhood can be a tricky time in managing this. How do you nurture yourself and your bub throughout pregnancy if you have an eating disorder? How do you manage all the emotional and body changes throughout pregnancy and in... the postnatal period when this could trigger the poor body image and weight obsession that an eating disorder thrives on? A great article that raises awareness of this important issue. #WeDoActTogether2017 #WorldEatingDisordersDay

21.01.2022 some great 'reality of motherhood' moments here...

15.01.2022 A really accurate and important read of some of the very real challenges of pregnancy, birth and adjusting to the demands of being a new mum. If you can relate or know someone who might then help and support is available. Speak with your GP, talk to your partner, seek out other mums who can relate. You are not alone!

15.01.2022 Wow! This has really divided people on social media and shows the battle mums face opening up about their experiences of pregnancy, childbirth and beyond. Yes, there are lots of stories out there making mums and mums-to-be anxious and worried so it is important to remember this is just one mum's story and not necessarily the way it will be for you. Yet there is also comfort and a reduced sense of shame and isolation in hearing stories that you can personally relate to. As a mum who struggled immensely with c-section pain after having my twins, I found some relief in knowing that I wasnt the only one. What do you think?

13.01.2022 Unfortunately the adjustment to motherhood is challenging. It's important to get help as early as possible. There are also structured programs that can help such as our online postnatal program.

11.01.2022 We veer a little from the topic of mums' emotional wellbeing to share this post below. Too many of our young people (and adults too) suffer in silence... we forget that everyone has a story no matter what they present to the outside world... so we are loving any idea that reminds us to stay kind and be empathic to the people around us.

10.01.2022 For those of you who missed this 'magic trick'... if only I'd known about this!

04.01.2022 We are so pleased that research is catching up to what we intuitively know... that online programs to support mental health are not only effective but help to breakdown many of the barriers to seeking help - stigma, cost and busy lives. Lets hope that online programs are soon provided with the same means to access as face -to-face treatment.

01.01.2022 Hmmm.... .... I am thinking that growing a little human being might be good enough?!

01.01.2022 As a working mum, I am often left feeling as if I am not doing any of my roles particularly well. Some days I accept this as a stage in my life and other days I struggle with not having the time or energy to do what I would like to do. Is this just part of being a mum or do you have strategies you use to get around this constant battle between acceptance vs wanting to achieve more?
