23.01.2022 Apple said it’s aware of a report that this issue may have been actively exploited for all three. The update to version 14.4 of the respective operating systems is available for iPhone 6s and later, iPad Air 2 and later, iPad mini 4 and later, and the seventh generation iPod touch.

23.01.2022 Pleased to advise that one of the oldest websites we manage have been revamped and given a modern look and easier navigation.

20.01.2022 The CarKey will sit in the Apple Wallet app and the key can be shared with friends and family.

20.01.2022 One of the new features in Apple’s recently released iOS 14 is a new recording indicator that will tell you when the microphone on your device is listening in or the camera is active.

19.01.2022 Two weeks ago, Apple, Cloudflare, Firefox, and Fastly, quietly implemented and published ESNI (Encrypted Server Name Indication). Discussions at public mailing lists indicate that very few people noted, and less realize, the potential ESNI (along with other similar efforts like DoH) has to utterly shift the way network policies are defined and enforced into the network. This posts discusses some of them.

19.01.2022 A grim reality check Almost every possible scenario includes reused credentials being exploited to gain access to the donaldjtrump.com site. In almost every case, having 2-Factor Authentication enabled would have prevented such a scenario from occurring. It’s also a reminder that it is important to enable 2-Factor Authentication not only on your website’s administrative panel, but on every service that offers it, including services you might not think of as being vulnerable. This afternoon, the official Trump campaign website was hacked and defaced. We have examined the site configuration and possible intrusion vectors, and our team has published what we know about this compromise, and lessons learned.

18.01.2022 It appears Harry and Meghan have failed to register ArchewellFoundation.com as a domain name, with the website instead quickly being snapped up by someone else who cheekily diverted fans to the less-than-flattering song. Please contact us to avoid such humiliation.

18.01.2022 With over half a million downloads every day, a TikTok clone called 'Mitron' has climbed up the chart of top Indian alternatives for the Chinese short videos app within a month since its launch. Led by 31-year-old IIT-Roorkee alumnus Shivank Agarwal, with his team of less than 5 members based out of Bengaluru, the Android app Mitron - the word means friends, and is often used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi - was launched in April 2020.

15.01.2022 Robotexts and spam messages are a fact of life, just like robocalls and junk email. But that doesn’t mean you have to put up with them. Just as with spam phone calls, you can block and stop robotexts with the right tricks and tools.

12.01.2022 To help us serve our aspiring Product Managers, we designed a competency assessment framework. It’s a simple printable PDF that enables a Product Manager to self assess their capabilities, along with getting input from their peers and their manager (or their stakeholders) to help shape a growth plan.

12.01.2022 Android users who don’t have 4.0.3 operating systems or newer will also reportedly be affected. If you have an iPhone 4 or older you won’t be able to update to newer software. Some Android devices like the Motorola Droid Razr and the Samsung Galaxy S2 also still run on outdated software.

12.01.2022 The Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) has seen a significant increase in reporting in the past few months of COVID themed phishing scams, using all sorts of lures to try and trick people into handing over personal details. Phishing and spear-phishing is a method of stealing confidential information by sending fraudulent messages to a victim, through email or message platforms. They remain among the most common method used by malicious cyber actors to target Australians.... While phishing messages are commonly sent out in their thousands, spear-phishing campaigns are typically aimed at a particular group of recipients. Since the pandemic's outbreak, the Government’s Scamwatch has received over 3,060 coronavirus themed scam reports with over $1,371,000 in reported losses. To help you spot a fake email or SMS from a real one, the ACSC’s Stay Smart Online program has launched an interactive phishing quiz. Phishing campaigns can be sent via email, SMS, social media, instant messenger or a phone call. They can look extremely convincing, often imitating legitimate messages from trusted senders in government or business, said ACSC Head Abigail Bradshaw CSC. The ACSC has observed numerous phishing emails that feature official logos and branding, together with the same font and layout as the organisation they pretend to come from. Head to our campaign page at www.cyber.gov.au/scam-messages to access the quiz, and see if you can spot the scam! Ms Bradshaw said. If you can spot the scam, how about hooking into an exciting career at ASD? Visit www.asd.gov.au/careers to learn more and apply for current vacancies. Further information We’re pleased to share with you the ACSC’s new-look website www.cyber.gov.au, including the ACSC's Stay Smart Online program. It is the ACSC’s primary digital platform for individuals, businesses and government agencies to report cybercrime and cyber incidents, and to receive expert advice and guidance about cyber security. If you have been a victim of a cybercrime, go to ReportCyber and report it. You can also report scams to Scamwatch. 05.01.2022 Do not repeat the mistake, only new mistakes please. Our standard advice to customers is to not post pictures of the boarding pass, or to at least obscure the key personal information if they do, because of the detail it contains, a spokesperson said.
