23.01.2022 It’s been one year since the first ‘code red’ fire danger rating in almost a decade was declared, and dry lightning strikes in North East Victoria and East Gipp...sland started multiple fires which grew into a devastating bushfire disaster. Today we acknowledge and thank our FFMVic crews and all the emergency services and volunteers who not only fought the fires but also helped affected communities rebuild and move forward after an unprecedented fire season.

19.01.2022 Are you planning to use fire this summer? Do you know if you need a permit? Victorians can now apply for permits online using the Fire Permits Victoria website.... If you’re planning your next burn-off, outdoor catering event or celebration using fireworks, Fire Permits Victoria should be your first stop to check, apply and notify. firepermits.vic.gov.au See more

15.01.2022 For every dad, carer or grandparent we love, staying apart this Sunday is going to be hard. But we can still make a big deal of our dads and carers in small way...s that mean a lot. Because dad jokes are just as funny, and sometimes not, over phone or video calls. Gifts we have delivered or a handwritten note in the mail, will mean a lot. And of course, there’s the special ways we remember the dads we've lost. Now more than ever it’s the thought that counts, so let’s thank our dads and carers a little differently this year. Because staying apart, keeps us together.

11.01.2022 Update: Boil Water Advisory Notification lifted across all suburbs. Water quality testing has confirmed that the water supply in the network is safe to drink. ...Please see latest post https://www.facebook.com/YVWater/posts/3564687696915692 --------------- Boil Water Advice: Our potential water quality issue is affecting the suburbs listed below. The water comes from closed catchments and has been mixed with disinfected water so the likelihood of any illness being caused is low. But we believe it is better to be safe than sorry. We are working with Melbourne Water and DHHS and will confirm when the boiled water notice is withdrawn. If you have already drunk the water, there is a low risk of potential gastro type of illness. People should contact their GP if this occurs. 06.01.2022 Working from home? Here are a few fire safety tips for your home office setup.

04.01.2022 In May this year, Nary and her family were eating breakfast when they heard a faint beeping noise. Within a matter of minutes, the entire top storey of their ho...use was alight, from a fire likely started by a faulty electrical blanket. Nary’s whole family were able to safely escape with just the clothes on their back, and credit their safe evacuation to having a working smoke alarm. Install interconnected smoke alarms in all bedrooms and living areas, and ensure you test batteries monthly. Only working smoke alarms save lives.
