20.01.2022 Clean Up Australia Day is coming Girl Guides will be cleaning up the Mullers Lagoon Area on Sunday 3rd of March 9am-11am followed by a sausage sizzle. Members of the community are welcome to come along and help us clean up and stay for a chat and sausage afterwards. Please let us know if you are planning on joining us would love to see you there!!

19.01.2022 This Friday is World Thinking Day and we will be take a trip back in time. 2019 World Thinking Day is dedicated to the group of girls who took the lead in 1909 and demanded Lord Baden-Powell create ‘something for the girls’. 17.01.2022 We participated in Clean Up Australia Day today!!! Thankyou to those that came along and helped us, it was lovely to have some friends with us this morning! The Guides and their friends all did a fantastic job picking up rubbish from all around Mullers Lagoon. Followed by a play on the playground and special treat to thank them for helping out. It was our first community service project for the year, and a great one to be involved in.... Alinta and Illara

As well as some Italian games and songs etc. If you have a daughter that is interested in trying guides please bring her along for a funfilled night. 14.01.2022 Attention Mums, Dads and carers Heads up - round 13 of the Get Started vouchers will be opening on Wednesday February 6 in a few weeks time. If you have either a Centrelink, health care card or a pensioner card you could be eligible for a $150 voucher to help cover the costs of your guides membership. If you don't have either cards contact your school principal to ask them to nominate you for a voucher today.

12.01.2022 On the weekend, the Zonta Club of Bowen celebrated International Women's Day. Two of our Guides, Matilda and Keeley, helped out by setting up the hall. Matilda also created the centre pieces for the tables and a beautiful arrangement in a vase which was raffled off on the day. Zonta then donated the amount raised from the raffle to the Bowen Girl Guides. I am so proud of our girls for helping out. ... A big thank you to Bowen Zonta and the community for their donation of $325.00 which we will put towards purchasing camping equipment. Alinta

09.01.2022 Welcome to the Wongabeena Bowen Girl Guides!! We are a newly reformed unit of 6 months there has not been a unit in Bowen for many many years well at least since I was a Junior Leader here myself. A huge thankyou to one of our wonderful leaders Alicia Ninnes (Illara) who started the unit back up. Without her we wouldnt have an active unit again. We are starting this term with 13 girls and looking forward to many more joining us. If you have a daughter aged from 5 to 17 that ...is interested we would love to have her come along and see what we do. If you are over 18 and interested in guides we are always looking for new leaders or unit helpers to join us please feel free to contact us. 04.01.2022 One of our wonderful Leaders Illara recieved her award for 3 yrs as a guide leader. Illara has been apart of girl guides for most of her life since starting as a child and working her way upto leader over the years. Congratulations Illara on 3 years look forward to many more to come. Alinta

04.01.2022 Bowen Girl Guides has started back for 2020 we have a very full group and now have a waitlist. If your daughter is interested in joining please let us know and we will add her to the list and let you know when she can come along and trial. Have you considered becoming a leader as we are looking for new Girl Guide Leaders to join us. We will then be able to start a second group and add to our numbers. If you are interested and would like some more information please contact us.

Their request for something for the girls led to Robert Baden-Powell and his sister Agnes founding Girl Guiding, which has now become a global movement. Today for World Thinking Day, 10 million members in 150 countries come together to celebrate the early champions o...f a girl-led movement, the first leaders, and all those since our founding who have explored ways to be a leader in our organisation. This year’s theme for World Thinking Day is Leadership. It’s Time to Lead and in Queensland, more than 4,500 children and adults from Girl Guides will come together today to celebrate not only the fact it is our Centenary anniversary '100 Years Strong' but the 100 years Queensland have celebrated and participated in World Thinking Day. #TimeToLead #WTD2019 #WTD2019GGQ

01.01.2022 The Wongabeena Bowen Guides marched as part of the ANZAC March and ceremony in Bowen today. Thank you to the girls and their families for coming and helping to commemorate those who have lost their lives in battle.
