This week we've received community news from Ballidu Heritage Centre, Wongan Hills Bowling Club, Wongan Hills Square Dance, the Local Studies Room and business news from McIntosh and Sons. 21.01.2022 Halfway through the term for yesterdays Session 5. 10 young people came to hang with us, the special attraction being pizza making. While there may not have be...en too many 10s for presentation there were definitely full marks for taste. Ten attendees made for a cosy space in the library area, so plans are afoot to look at moving the sessions to the function room if these numbers continue. See more

19.01.2022 The Wongan Hills CRC and the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu, together with support from the State Government, has been able to successfully run a Traineeship program for a number of years. This is a very rewarding program for all involved and has produced great outcomes for our community. 19.01.2022 Session 6 - 9 kids turned up yesterday to spend a sunny arvo with us yesterday. We had a 5 minute challenge - blindfolded, you have 5 minutes to create somethin...g out of Lego, not as easy as it sounds but lots of laughs and giggles! Some of the group decided to make the most of the beautiful sunshine and hang out outside while others entertained themselves with funny cat videos. Snacks were gobbled up and lots of chatter was to be heard. We wish Addison a speedy recovery - her injury went from a knee to a hip to a foot and maybe a leg injury too! Maybe some slight exaggeration and embellishment from the group and the story was very entertaining! We are confident she will be ok so no cause for alarm! Next week pizza making is back by popular demand and the ongoing debate - does pineapple belong on pizza? See you there! See more

17.01.2022 You may have noticed some extra kids around yesterday. WHDHS had a Pupil Free Day so 14 kids headed to the CRC to hang out.

17.01.2022 Yesterday we had 12 crafters turn up to make a gift and a card for Dad. We can't show you what they made - it will spoil the surprise! All will be revealed next week!

16.01.2022 Yesterday we have a visit from Miss Wilkes and the Year 2/3 class. They came to find out information on event planning and discuss what events they might like to plan. After a very informative brain storming session, the students had a sneaky chocolate cupcake before heading back to school.

On a personal note, thank you to everyone for making my time with the CRC and the Shire so rewarding and fulfilling. I have had the very great pleasure of working with some wonderful people, both colleagues and community members, and I am truly proud of the small ways in which I have been able to help others achieve their goals and some of their ambitions. 13.01.2022 Yesterday was a busy day! We started out with a visit from Cubby House. Lyn the Librarian read some Christmas stories and played some Christmas Carols on her piano. We followed up with a Christmas activity and a yummy morning tea. Later in the day, we hosted our annual Boomer Volunteers Volunteers Luncheon and more Christmas Carols

10.01.2022 On Monday we had pizza back by popular demand. A hungry hoard of 9 turned up to make their own pizza. While it was cooking, they moved into the function room an...d taped up a 6 square court for a new twist on 4 square which I made the mistake of calling square ball! I definitely showed my age when they asked me what that was and I explained that's what it was called when I was at school! Music was playing and food was munched on. The kids have been great at cleaning up after themselves, offering to bring in the flags and being very helpful with packing up. Everyone says thank you and goodbye as they leave. It's great to see the manners and level of respect that these young people are showing for each other, our staff and the building and equipment. Until next week. See more

06.01.2022 10 kids arrived at the CRC to hang out with us. Apple Slinky's were the order of the day, amazing how kids will eat fruit when it's cut up! There was great exci...tement when a train pulled up at the platform. The very obliging driver was bombard by the kids and was a good sport, answering loads of questions. Next week is our last Hang out and the tribe has spoken - they want to cook! Hit me with your best suggestions of what to cook with up to 10 kids! See more

We put Riley's audio skills to the test and got him filming some online story times with Lyn the Librarian and the lovely Heather Stickland.
