24.01.2022 Have you noticed the sun is warming and the winds have lessened. Time to think about going away to the regions for a weekend or longer and the school holidays are coming fast. What about the Flinders Ranges. Magnificent scenery, mountains and valleys all starting to green up from recent rains. Here at Wonoka Station we can provide cottage accommodation, camp sites, and walking, cycling and 4WD tracks. We have a big gum creek which runs right through the property with 2 spectacular permanent water holes. Telstra mobile coverage is available and we are only 15 kms from the Hawker township if you need supplies, health care, eating out and much more.

22.01.2022 If you are planning a trip to the Flinders Ranges come and stay at Wonoka Cottage and live some outback hospitality. The views from Wonoka Cottage are spectacular, experience the ever changing colours of the Bluff, The Elder Range and Cox Comb hill in early morning and evening. Have meals outdoors in our covered Outdoor eating area complete with a BBQ. Watching sheep, kangaroos and emus coming to drinking at the windmill trough. Cook marshmellows and potatoes in the Fire pit... under the breathtaking stars sharing, port and tall stories Cook up a storm with a Large Fridge Freezer, microwave, full size oven, plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils Sleep soundly on Comfortable beds, with nice linen, loads of blankets and air conditioning in all rooms Take a stroll in the creek downhill from the cottage. If we get a good downpour you might even see it run. Enjoy a tour of the shearing shed and if we have a wooly, watch Peter shear it. 13.01.2022 Shearing has been completed for 2016 ... the sheep are all back out grazing & Wonoka's wool is baled ready for collection. The camels are now in the yards & will be having their saddle sizings checked. It looks like some of the humps have increased by several dress sizes!

10.01.2022 Wonoka station trails, highlighting some significant and beautiful areas that you will experience if you access these trails. They were photographed by visiting trekkers to our property. They were very careful of our fragile part of the flinders ranges and made sure they stayed on the tracks and respected our conditions. You are most welcome to visit but we need prior bookings. We have 3 tracks with a cost of $25 per track or $50 for 2 or 3 tracks.

09.01.2022 We are open for tourists here at Wonoka Station and have started to enjoy some visitors in our cottage and campsite. So come and marvel at the beautiful scenery and crisp night skies full of stars. Cook spuds and marshmallows on our campfires. Our cottage is fully self contained, heated and cosy, with lovely comfortable beds. The campsite has showers and toilets and a large shed to camp and cook in if the weather is inclement and plenty of room for several caravans. Explore our tracks, trails and waterholes. We are booked for the long weekend in June but available for most other weekends. 07.01.2022 WONOKA CAMPGROUND This spacious secluded area has a lofty shed ideal for small family groups or larger ones such as schools or scout camps, where you can pitch your tent inside if the weather is bad. Toilets and showers (water permitting) are available and there’s a sink inside for dishes and cooking and cleaning. Off to one side there’s a verandah with a sheltered BBQ area where you can relax and admire the breathtaking views of the Wonoka Bluff and surrounding bush, or wa...tch your children playing cricket or riding their bikes. Just a short walk across the camp ground and it drops away into the magnificent Cascades permanent water holes. Many happy hours can be spent exploring this beautiful area. Take an invigorating swim in the pools, shallow and deep, watch our sheep and wild goats clamber over the rocks in search of a drink and if you’re lucky catch yabbies’ to cook on the fire. As the evening approaches sit by your very own fire watching the moon come up in the east and marvel at the magnificent stars you will struggle to see in the city, with the delicious aroma of damper and potatoes cooking amongst the coals. You will feel you are deep in the outback, but Hawker township is a mere 13 kilometers away where you can stock up on most things you might need or have forgotten. Come and enjoy. See more
