14.01.2022 The Bass Coast Breakers are very honoured to be participating in the statewide Transport Accident Commission (TAC) AFL Victoria Towards Zero round. The whole te...am feel very passionately about the need for a zero road toll. Road casualties and trauma leave a profound and lasting impact on clubs and communities and we need to work together on this important issue. Breakers winger Jessica Bolding will be wearing zero on her jumper this weekend (pictured here with Nicole Stewart Customer relations manager at Wonthaggi Holden). As a regional team and the only Division 1 Womens team in Gippsland the Breakers players travel from as far as Yinnar and Melbourne to come to training each week. This combined with games as far away as Port Melbourne means the team all travel significant kilometres on our roads to play football. Unfortunately drivers on Victorias regional roads face greater risks due to higher speed limits, longer journeys and the quality of some country roads. The Towards Zero campaign identifies that by improving the safety of our roads, our speeds, our vehicles and our behaviour we can change road safety for good. Wonthaggi Holden as a major sponsor of the Breakers are also very passionate about road safety and can help ensure you are driving a safe vehicle. 11.01.2022 Did you Know The famous Holden lion didnt make an appearance until 1928. Holden hired sculptor George Rayner Hoff to create the logo. Hoff used an ancient fable as the basis for his work, opting for when man observed a lion rolling a stone around and decided to invent the wheel. Hoffs other work includes the ANZAC war memorial in Hyde Park.... Before the illustrious lion, Holdens logo depicted a winged worker kneeling in front of its factory.

The 1948-215 FX Holden was a four-door, six-seater sedan, lightweight and durable, with a torquey 2.15 litre grey engine, chosen for its efficiency and durability. It offered exceptional performance and economy. With a top speed of over 80mph (130km/h) the Holden could cruise all day at 65mph (105km/h), take steep hills in its top-gear stride and typically return 30 miles per gallon (9.4l/100km). Aerobilt body construction, at the time a relatively new engineering principle, combined body and chassis into one all-steel unit.
