If you have a spare moment please share this post and register a team today by clicking the link below! http://fundraising.cancer.org.au/site/TR/RelayforLife/CCVIC Relay For Life is an inspirational, empowering and emotional community led experience, where locals form teams and walk overnight to support those with cancer, while fundraising for Cancer Council Victoria. Touching ceremonies include an Opening Lap dedicated to cancer Survivors and their Carers, an evening Candlelight Ceremony to honour those lost to cancer and personal pledges to cut the risk of cancer. Relayers often arrive as complete strangers and leave as friends united by their cancer experience. By getting involved with Relay For Life, you can create a community experience to support locals touched by cancer and help Hope Live in Wonthaggi. Unfortunately with some key organisers of this event moving on from their positions this year and some teams not returning, the committee and Cancer Council Victoria have made the decision to postpone the event until November 2017. If your team would still like to Relay this year, you might consider joining a nearby event: On the 22nd and 23rd of October is Latrobe Relay For Life... 12.01.2022 To our wonderful supporters in Wonthaggi and the surrounding areas. You may already know that the Wonthaggi Relay For Life will unfortunately not be going ahead. As a grassroots community-led event we rely heavily on the community’s involvement and support. Given we’ve had low registrations and participation from the community, we have made the difficult decision not to proceed with the event. This goes hand in hand with our promise to never compromise the enjoyment of, or th...e support provided to those involved in our events. We greatly values the support of volunteers and participants that have taken part in Relay For Life events in Wonthaggi. Cancer Council Victoria will still be present in your community and will continue to deliver cancer information and support services to people impacted by cancer. We would love your continued support and we invite you to join the Korumburra Relay For Life which will be held in March 2018. We would like to thank you all for your ongoing support. 09.01.2022 Good morning team Wonthaggi :) What are your plans tomorrow? Have you pre-cooked your lunch? No? Well leave it to us!!!! Joey and I will be busy sizzling several succulent sausages and talking ALL THINGS Relay out the front of Safeway in Wonthaggi tomorrow from 9:00am - 2:00pm.... Look out for the Cancer Council marquee, come down and say hello. We will be taking team registrations as we count down the months until the 2017 Wonthaggi Relay For Life. Can't wait to see you there :)

07.01.2022 New cancer data has revealed bowel cancer is Victoria’s second biggest cancer killer, taking almost as many lives as breast and prostate cancer combined in 2015. But if caught early through screening, 90% of bowel cancers can be treated successfully.
