18.01.2022 Request for Assistance from our corps member Simone Van Gaalen: If you know some people wanting to do their part in this crisis the front line homeless workers in Melbourne are in dire need of washable face masks. I am trying to find willing sewers to make them. They would be gathered together and sent to Major Lynda van Gaalen-Prentice (Chaplaincy Team Leader) to be distributed among the front line workers! At the moment they are working on the towers so the need is great if you can help we would be ever so grateful. If you can make any, pass them to us at Wonthaggi Salvos and we will ensure they get to Melbourne where they are needed most! https://threadsmonthly.com/free-fabric-face-mask-sewing-p/

13.01.2022 Every year, the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal helps families in need during this season and beyond. A small contribution can make a big impact and we can make a difference together. This year with Kmart in Wonthaggi, this will heavily support our combined Christmas Cheer program, where we provide food and toys to families in need. This year we are especially short of toys for girls aged 6-12, and gift cards for teenagers- please keep this in mind when donating this year to the appeal. Thanks Wonthaggi!

13.01.2022 So we were talking in bible study this morning about how much our pets mean to us. I know this is true for so many especially amidst the pandemic where we have been so isolated. So we have decided to host a virtual 'Blessing of the Pets' on October 24th. This is an opportunity to thank God for the blessing of our pets and all creatures great and small. Get your pets on zoom with you as we celebrate them together! This will be interesting to see how they go on screen, but will all be part of the fun! The best thing about it being virtual? You can do this from anywhere! Join us in the fun! RSVP to this event page and zoom link will come shortly!

04.01.2022 I want to give a massive shout out and thank you to all those who have been providing us with masks. We are so grateful for church members, the Boomerang Bags Bass Coast team, and others from our community, for making reusable masks. We also send a massive thank you to Bass Coast shire who provided us with 500 disposable masks to distribute to the vulnerable in our community. Thank you Bass Coast for partnering with us as we serve the wider community in this challenging crazy season. Look after yourselves everyone- stay safe! We are here if you need us :)
