20.01.2022 Chainsaw mirror.. made using recycled seasoned hardwood fence palings..

13.01.2022 My latest project was challenging & a little outside of my rustic comfort zone.. Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway is a small private museum & steam railway at Swanbank run by a group of enthusiasts. My mission was to re-purpose a retro era pine plywood ticket cabinet into something more fitting to the Art Deco era of steam. The original was a double door cabinet with 2 identical ticket cases that closed face to face. I decided I would split them & make 2 separate cabinet...s for the 2 stations at each end of their little branch line. The first one is finished and I look forward to starting the second one. I covered the pine exterior with pink silky oak veneer I ordered on line then set about making a new cabinet door out of an old silky oak table top I had picked up from curb side waste several years ago. To stay true to the era I French polished it with orange shellac. See more

08.01.2022 These tired old steer horns hung above the loungeroom doorway at my grandparents house for about 60yrs. I restored the horns and remounted them on a plaque I made from broken silky oak chairs & some pine offcuts. Now displaying his buffalo club member badges it’s a family heirloom tribute to my grandfather who passed away in 1982.

06.01.2022 I made this for my daughter to hang her great grandmother’s brush & mirror set on. The stand is recycled oak & I made the hooks out of vintage cutlery.

05.01.2022 Duck nesting coup made out of reclaimed pine decking and second-hand colorbond.
