19.01.2022 CARER'S RAISING CHILDREN -Friday 11/09/2020- Finishing off sewing/ knitting. Today we finished off the the masks and or napkin holders that we started on last week. Wendy was very kind and finished off the napkin holders that Ros had already cut out for us. These are so colourful and bright, so cute, just need to add the packet of paper napkins to them. A couple of more masks were finished off as well and the knitters crocheters bought in some more of their clever handy work ...they have been working on. These are coming along beautifully, you are all so very clever, love love your work. Alison also bought in some of her little ceramic succulent pots that she just received in the post after a long wait....what is Australia Post doing these days???? Looking forward to seeing these filled with some cute little plants.Another great catch up with the ladies. See more

18.01.2022 CARERS RAISING CHILDREN. Friday 20/11/2020. Christmas cards / Tags / Gift boxes. Ladies had another go at doing some Christmas cards/ tags etc ready for the festive season. Ros had managed to get some more of the pre cut tags, so a couple of us ladies got stuck into decorating them again ready for the hand over next week to Jenny from Lifeline. Our knitters were also busy working on their knitting projects, and a special mention to Denise who managed to undo her tangled ball... of apricot coloured wool ( check the photo) in just under 1.5 hours and did 1 row of knitting. Now could this be that she was sitting next to Judith, who we all knows loves a little chat or was that ball her challenge for the day sssshhhh....Denise had a smile on her face and that's all that matters. Another thank you to Anne from The Hub at Ambarvale, who had donated a bag of YoYo circles, some already sewn up, for the next time we do the decorated bags. Thank you for thinking of us Anne. After our popular plant swap / mini succulent gardens last week, Judith, myself and a couple of the ladies found a nice shaded spot in the back garden and planted some of the left over cuttings. We checked these out today and I swear they have grown already and they are a nice addition to the little plot in the back yard at the centre. See more

16.01.2022 Hi all, Volunteers required!!

15.01.2022 Carers Raising Children- Friday 4/09/2020- Napkin holder / Face Masks. The ladies thought that we would have a little go at sewing, so face masks being popular at the moment, we thought we would give them a go. There is plenty of material in the cupboard at the moment and Michele bought in a couple of different patterns for the ladies to copy, for those who wanted to cut out or made a face mask. Ros also had some napkin holders for the ladies to finish off, these are already ...cut out ready to sew from when we did these a few years back. We will continue finishing off these next week as we ran out of time. The knitters were hard at it this week, continuing on their projects.....looking good ladies. See more

03.01.2022 CARER'S RAISING CHILDREN Friday 18/09/2020- Christmas Cards. Another great catch up today with the ladies. We made a start on Christmas cards for this year. Ros bought in some cute samples of what she is doing and had a great dimentional card to show us that we will tackle next term. We have worked on next terms program and a copy sent/ given out to all the ladies. Lots of fun things coming up for us.... 5 of the ladies bought along their diamond art pieces they are working on, ohh my ladies these are beautiful, and the knitters were hard at it as well, their pieces are growing beautifully, well except Judith, I believe 2 rows were knitted today, but she did get to speak to all the ladies. Today we celebrated the 6 ladies who have SEPTEMBER BIRTHDAYS with a yummy cake and a hearty rendition of the Happy Birthday song, that was beautifully sang for the 3 ladies that could make it today, Yvonne, Wendy and Michelle T ( me). Debra, Karen and Sue R weren't able to make it, but we were thinking of them when we were enjoying the very rich cake.

03.01.2022 Woodbine Neighbourhood Centre’s (WNC) staff (Macarthur Care Pair -MCP) were busy today bagging up all the FREE NAIDOC Activity bags. All the families have been phoned and are looking forward in picking up their bags up tomorrow. We would love to see some of your children’s finished masterpieces. Please feel free to provide feedback and share photos with us - [email protected] or [email protected].

02.01.2022 A photo that reminds us - 11th November, Remembrance Day Lest we forget.

01.01.2022 CARER'S RAISING CHILDREN - Friday 25/09/2020 - Last day for Term 3 Luncheon. That term went very quick I must say, but I believe it was the most appreciated term after not being to meet for so long with the covid shut downs. So today we didn't go out for an outing with restrictions, we decided to stay in the hall and have a covid safe lunch here with an international theme. Judith made a Stellio's Le Mauritiane Currie with rice and carrot salad- so very delicious. Lebanese Go...zleme from Wendy and a crisp Lebanese bread with a tabouli and a homus dip from Ros. Virginia and Michelle B bought along some hot Chinese yum cha entrees to munch on. Greece was represented by Terry who made some yummy cheese triangles. Along with the good old Aussie Lamington made by Michelle T and Denise and I might add with fresh whipped cream and jam for those who wanted that little extra kick. Wouldn't be a luncheon without Chris's fresh curried egg and lettuce sandwiches...always a must and a freshly baked carrot cake by Alison with a cream cheese topping...yumm And when you thought you could'nt fit another thing in Wendy bought in donut balls to fit into any spaces you might of had in your tummy. Woodbine Carer's Raising Children Group are in Term 4 supporting Wendy C. who is collecting any items suitable to put into the 'Bags for Dignity' i.e soaps, toothpaste/brushes, deodorants, femine hygiene products etc which are being collected first week back of Term 4 and if you are to help by making the yoyo flowers for the bags that Wendy has and the ones that our Chris made up, that too would be appreciated. Wendy had lots and lots of circles ready for us to take on Friday but if you forgot to pick some up or have material and the time to make these for her she would be grateful. So ladies have a great 2 week break and see you back for Term 4 starting 16/10/2020 for lots of fun ideas and activities and wonderful social support in these trying times.

01.01.2022 CARER'S RAISING CHILDREN- Friday 13/11/2020 - Succulent Mini Gardens and plant swap. The day has finally arrived for the much anticipated mini garden demo. A great rollup of 17 ladies ( including Danielle) today. All safely social distanced too. We knew this was going to be a popular activity. Today we were very appreciative of Danielle Fabre to come and give a wonderful demonstration of creating mini succulent gardens and great hints of how to care for our little creations.... Danielle bought in a great variety of succulents from her garden along with appropriate planting soil, gravel and planting tools for us to use. We all are amazed at how well they turned out, we all love our gardens , they are just so pretty. I do hope mine last till Christmas, as I made them with lots of love, for some special friends and we know how much of a green thumb I haven't been blessed with, so just going to pray a bit. A big thank you to Rachel-Maree from Glen Alpine, who saw on our Facebook page that we were having the demo this week and offered the group a full box of succulent cuttings from her beautiful garden for the ladies to have...Thank you from all the ladies Rachel-Maree. I can safely say that most of the ladies if not all, will have jade growing in their gardens with thanks to you Rachel-Maree. I have a video of Danielle Fabre's home garden, but was not able to put on here so maybe Judith you can add it in your comments so all can see her masterpiece. See more
