25.01.2022 Tomorrow the 28th of November ,With Temperatures reaching into the mid 30’s and winds from the NNW at 15 to 25 kms the fire danger warning has been raised to very high, all fire permits have been suspended. Thank you have a safe day and keep cool.

23.01.2022 The fire rating for tomorrow the 18/10/2020 has been raised to Very Hi. With the temperature expected to reach the early 30’s and the chance of some winds throughout the day. Due to this weather all fire permits are suspended for 24hrs from midnight tonight, thankyou and have a safe day.
23.01.2022 Last night was Woodburn Brigades presentation for members to receive the Premiers Citation for their efforts during the 2019/2020 Bushfires. Woodburn members were on the front line for many months working to protect their local community. Congratulations Woodburn Brigade.

21.01.2022 For tomorrow the 29th of November A total fire ban will be in place from midnight tonight, with the temperature likely to hit the the low 40’s with low humidity and winds from the NNW at 15 to 20kms all this adds up to a very high fire danger. Permits remain suspended.
20.01.2022 Today our new crew Members attended the Casino fire control centre for there BF assessment welcome to the team. Wyrallah and West Coraki brigades also had a number of new members attend the BF assessment, all of the new members are now qualified to attend callouts.

19.01.2022 The Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP) will commence tomorrow (1 September 2020) in 21 local government areas. This means land owners and land managers in these are...as must now obtain a free Fire Permit from their local fire authority before lighting any fires, including hazard reduction burns. Even if you’ve been using fire for many years, safe burning is your responsibility. Contact your local Fire Control Centre to obtain your free Fire Permit and follow its conditions. Heavy fines apply for the unsafe use of fire or if your fire escapes. Don’t be the fire risk to your community. Use fire safely. 13.01.2022 Last night Woodburn and Wardell brigades were called to assist Fire and Rescue NSW with a structure fire at the Broadwater sugar mill when crews arrived on scene the fire was well established and the structures automated fire system had activated. Crews quickly formulated a plan and once power was isolated moved in and with the assistance of breathing apparatus and extinguished the remainder of the hot spots. A mop up operation continued on into the early hours of this morning and once the structure was declared safe crews returned to station.
13.01.2022 #Ingleside #NSWRFS volunteers responded this afternoon to a houseboat fire on #Pittwater, the West side of #PalmBeach. Our brigade was sent for Breathing Appara...tus support of the #RFS boats of Scotland Island Rural Fire Brigade & WestPittwater Rural Fire Brigade. The boat was mostly destroyed by fire with police investigating. 3 Fire & Rescue NSW Pumpers also supported the operation. See more

13.01.2022 The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast heat wave conditions to affect much of NSW until at least next Tuesday. This will increase the fire risk across much of state with Very High and Severe fire danger likely on the weekend. Plan and prepare now.

09.01.2022 So Santa came early this year to Woodburn with the delivery of Raelene’s new Cat 9. This will replace our older cat 9 Land cruiser which will be retasked to another brigade for a well earned rest after a very active fire season in 2019/2020 season and many years of service prior.

05.01.2022 I was honoured to present two commendations last night to Deputy Captain Raelene Davis and daughter Chantelle Davis of the Woodburn Brigade on behalf of the Nat...ional President, Australian Institute of Emergency Services who recognised both Raelene and Chantelle for their efforts in defending and saving residences in Rappville on the 8 October 2019. The story they told to the Prime Minister of the day the fire impacted the town during his visit, hit home with many people including AIES National President Mr. Stephen Jenkins who was also attending as part of a task force of fire fighters from Mid North Coast. This prompted the nomination for this important award. On behalf of us all Congratulations to you both for what you did and continue to do. See more

04.01.2022 Busy times again for Northern Rivers RFS Brigades. Fires at Peacock Creek and Roseberry Creek have been challenging but remain contained although Brigades conti...nue to assist landowners to protect assets with the fire perimeters. New fires today include a fire off Mothersoles Rd at Ellangowan that crews have now got around and have contained. Another fire South West of Woodburn believed to have been caused by a lightning strike last Friday has been worked on today by Woodburn Brigade assisted by a helicopter in a very swampy area. Crews from RFS and National Parks will continue to mop up this fire tomorrow ahead of challenging conditions expected this coming weekend. There is no threat to property at this time.
