12.01.2022 As you would all be aware, the Victorian Government announced yesterday the "Roadmap to reopening". From now until 28th September 2020 there will be a continuation of the current stage 4 lockdown, however, there has been some relaxation of your ability to have client/agent contract meetings if you’re unable to do so remotely. This now includes document signing, material selection and final inspection, but needs to be by appointment only and with physical distancing. Site vi...sitation - While still only 3 sites per week are permitted, you are now able to attend 2 sites per day. Curfew - From 13th September the curfew time will move from 8pm to 9pm. From 28th September 2020 Subject to meeting average daily case rate targets from 28th, it is intended at this stage that our industry will move from heavily restricted to restricted. The only change here will be some relaxation on the number of sites permitted 5 sites per week and 2 sites per day. From 26th October 2020 Subject to meeting average daily case rate targets, Melbourne metro will move to the third step, from restricted to ‘open with COVID Safe Plan’ this will restore the ability to attend occupied premises (though occupants must temporarily leave while work is conducted to create a physical barrier). There will be no restrictions on the number of workers and an unrestricted number of sites can be attended. Social distancing, hygiene practices, essential PPE and masks must still be in place. Workplace mapping and contact tracing procedures must still continue (workplace attendance register). On 13th September, Regional Victoria will move to the second step, however, this and the subsequent steps mean that there is no real change in respect of working conditions. 07.01.2022 A must read for all our customers regarding quoting on jobs during Stage 4 Restrictions, courtesy of ATFA; "We’ve finally obtained a response from the Victorian Government pertaining to quoting. Fundamentally, this is considered in the same way as working, that is you are only permitted to attend unoccupied sites or new builds for the purpose of undertaking work and as now clarified by the Vic Government, to undertake a quote.... However, all the same restrictions set by the Vic Government apply: Premise must be a new build or unoccupied (see further clarification below) Person attending site to undertake a quote would still be considered included within the maximum of five allowed on site Going to site to undertake a quote would be part of your allowed 3 sites within a week, maximum one per day schedule Must still use the permitted work permit for sites you are quoting at and use the attendance register accordingly COVIDSafe plans to be used where they apply to your respective business size ‘Employers and workers must comply with the COVID Safe Plan. You do not need a COVID Safe plan if you have fewer than five workers performing work at your workplace.’ Ensure all PPE, hygiene and social distancing measures are taken please use the ATFA checklists Visit https://www.atfa.com.au/covid19/ Victorian Stage 4 Lockdown for all the essential documents.
