09.01.2022 Dear Members, Please find below the most current information (as at 8.00pm on Friday 27th March), relating to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the Woodend Tennis Club. The latest Tennis Victoria bulletin issued yesterday afternoon has recommended that all Tennis Clubs & Centres across Victoria stop operating at the earliest practical time, so it is with great sadness that the doors of the Woodend Tennis Club are now closed until further notice.... All social and recreational tennis ceased as at 8pm on Friday 27th March. While we are optimistic that the club will reopen again before long, these are clearly unprecedented times and a situation that continues to evolve on a daily basis. When the community is ready to discuss a return to normal use of non-essential services, we will be part of that dialogue and will keep you updated. Tennis Victoria have also recommended that all coaching is cancelled including one on one coaching. Marcus and his fantastic team of coaches had already cancelled all lessons earlier this week and we will monitor the situation as it unfolds over the school break. The entire Committee is grateful for your support over the past fortnight. Tennis is such an integral part of not just our lives, but the lives of the hundreds of players who have come through our club. So while it is with sadness that we press pause on our tennis journey, there will be many more chapters to be written in the Woodend Tennis Club story. I hope the majority of you will still be part of that journey when normality resumes. We’re looking at online tennis options to keep you entertained during this period of isolation and encourage you all to share your ideas for staying connected and tennis fit on our Facebook group. 03.01.2022 Men’s and Women’s doubles finals completed! Congratulations to Marty J Dillon and Paul Green and Kate Greenwood and Jane Crozier. Head on down, live music with Isaac Jensen and kids activities are in full swing with ball kids clinics well under way.... The juniors finals, men’s and women’s singles and mixed doubles all to start soon. The sun’s even out!

Court access has been a major contributor to this program not being possible this side of Christmas however his much enjoyed program by the club and community will be kicking off soon.
