22.01.2022 Hi Everyone, thank you for all the well wishes For those who are unaware, my name is Matthew and I am the new owner of Woodford Village Jeweller. I would like to say thank everyone who has welcomed me into the community and a special thank you to Ken Fitzsimon, for his generosity in making the process a simple and enjoyable experience. My wife and I moved to the Woodford area in January, as we loved the atmosphere and community feel. At this time I did not expect to be taki...ng over the local jewellers, as I run a busy hand-manufacturing jewellery store in Brisbane. However whilst exploring the town a week after moving, I visited Ken to introduce myself and meet another local jeweller. This turned into an opportunity I couldn’t wait to undertake! I look forward to meeting everyone and helping you with your jewellery needs. I will be posting more about the store, my jewellery journey and some photos of my past designs in the coming days. 22.01.2022 We were given 2 wedding rings that belonged to grandparents.we melted them in our workshop and made 4 nugget pendants as keepsakes for 4 grandchildren.

20.01.2022 Ocean View Pendant (Continued) This piece was inspired by a customers beach holiday. During this trip the customer found the pearl (displayed in the left bottom corner of the piece), in an oyster she found while exploring. Not particularly appealing on its own, it definitely compliments the multiple contrasts with the piece. It also holds a lot of sentimental meaning for the customer, as a constant reminder of her trip. The piece was made in 18ct white and yellow gold, with a... number of different textures differentiating the components from one another. Sand blasting was used for the background, a blurred pattern for the wind and polished touches for the ocean. As well as the pearl, the piece also contains small diamonds and a larger citrine. 17.01.2022 Flashback to my first custom piece I made this piece during my apprenticeship and it still is one of my favourites. It took over 200 hours to create. Each section of the petals were individually made like a puzzle and then soldered together. It was a great achievement in my career and one that I always think of as a point of reference on my journey
