25.01.2022 In science, 4B have been investigating ochre mixed with different liquids. They were working hard recording observations after smudging the ochre mixtures. We found that some mixtures containing egg yolk and PVA glue were much better at resisting smudges. Well done 4B scientists!

23.01.2022 Last week 4B students presented their traditional stories written for English to the Year 1 and 1/2C classes. Thanks to Mrs Thirwell and Ms Kilpatrick for allowing us to visit and having such good listeners amongst the younger students. There were few nerves but overall the year 4’s did a great job!

19.01.2022 This year Woodford P-10 State School is supporting Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child. This special organisation sends shoebox size gift boxes across the world to children in need. If your family would like to participate in this very worthy cause, shoeboxes and information brochures are available at the school office. You are welcome to fill your own shoebox or simply collect items and drop them into the school office and we will pack them. Each box must include $10 (payment options available) to cover postage costs. Gift boxes can be accepted up till 23 October. 19.01.2022 Fifty-five students were presented with a book award this term for outstanding progress in reading. The term book awards are eagerly awaited and many students set reading goals to ensure they are in the running. Reading is always a high priority at school and students should be very proud of their efforts.

19.01.2022 Just a reminder for parents/carers, if your child is celebrating a birthday at school with a cake, please ensure you only send in a store bought cake in the unopened packaging. These procedures are in place due to COVID and we appreciate your support and understanding.

12.01.2022 The Year One Students travelled to Stanley River Environmental Centre and had a wonderful day learning about the Jinibara land and people. They enjoyed stories, games, boomerang throwing and more. A great day was had by all!

07.01.2022 The year 5 and 6 students experienced the joys of rocket flight during our incursion. They learned about space travel and the different possibilities that space travel can have. All students enjoyed this experience immensely.

06.01.2022 7B Demonstrating their understanding of the class novel, ‘Black Snake- the daring of Ned Kelly’, employing a variety of modes, including drama, interviewing key witnesses and the creation of board games.

06.01.2022 The Prep Students travelled to Maleny’s Dairies and had a wonderful day learning about caring for living things on a farm. They enjoyed feeding the animals and tasting some dairy products.
