14.01.2022 Woodlands Park recently had some visitors from Nepal who came to look at our farm and farming practices and ask Wal some questions. Sponsored by World Vision these visitors are in Australia to research hay and grain production, stock feeding and the Boer goat livestock industry.

11.01.2022 Woodlands Park are now selling Teff Grass Hay! Teff grass is a new product to Australia and originated from the highlands of Ethiopia, Africa. The American Amish farmers developed this product essentially as a horse friendly grass hay. Teff hay can be used to feed a range of livestock from horses,cows, sheep and goats.Teff grass hay is a soft forage and compared to other hays on the market it does not look the most enticing. Teff bales are not bright in colour like Lucerne a...nd lack that grass fragrance that most hays have. We have researched the great health benefits for stock and this is why we have started producing teff grass hay here at Woodlands Park. We can offer a hay that is safe to feed horses with laminitis, founder, Cushing's, insulin resistance (IR), equine metabolic syndrome (EMS) and weight issues. It has been described as the new superfood as it is low in carbohydrates. Teff hay is high in calcium as well as phosphorus, iron, copper, aluminium, barium and thiamine. Remember just like us humans, by being low in sugar some livestock may not take to Teff grass straight away. It's like kale we know it's good for us but it doesn't taste the greatest.
