21.01.2022 Yve Apartments | 2001 #tbt The Yve Apartment building is designed as a three dimensional iconic structure clad with glass of various textures and layers. Its design considers the site and dislocates itself from the rectified form of adjoining buildings. Its facade curves in plan and forms deep recesses to the side boundaries creating space in between and allowing for views and landscaping to be implemented. The symmetry on all levels in plan and in elevation alludes to equal treatment of the front, rear, and sides; a similar response is presented when viewed from most other perspectives. Floors above 45m step inward from the corners, and to a lesser extent, from the centre. This movement forces the perspective and creates a crown to the building without altering the overall building language.

16.01.2022 Positioned overlooking Orrong Romanis Reserve in the heart of leafy Stonnington, No.6 Sydney Street is a boutique multi-residential dwelling that establishes an individual presence as an architectural sculpture that is both unique to and sympathetic of its context. Floor to ceiling glass follows the dynamic movement of the expressed form and invites daylight into every apartment. The main entry canopy sweeps up, supported elegantly by integrated fluted feature columns.

08.01.2022 Port Phillip Estate Winery sits on a spectacular, undulating site overlooking picturesque vineyards, Westernport bay and Bass Strait. Sited atop a ridge, the building unfurls across site, spiralling out of the ground and slowly rising to form the eastern wall of the structure. This abstract, sculptural form conceals much of the mass and various programme within the building, presenting a bold and simple gesture towards the road. . . : @peterbbennetts
