01.01.2022 Vale R. J. Bill Gale. The Members of the Woodside Cricket Club extend our deepest sympathies to Jan, Tash and family on the sad passing of Life Member and Club Patron, Bill. He will be fondly remembered as a hands on contributor upon the Clubs reformation in the early 80’s, filling the important position of Club President and then later on as Treasurer. ... His on-field exploits with the willow befitted his well earned nickname of Stonewall. Off the field, his foresight and commitment to gaining a second playing surface - the aptly named Gale Oval - has been a vital key in the growth of not only our club, but sport generally in Woodside. The sight of him watching proceedings from his car, parked underneath the pine trees at the end of Woodside Oval on Saturday afternoons will be missed by all... A private funeral service and cremation will be held due to the restrictions put on us all.
