What a sad day for the Early Childhood Industry! There are not many winners here, so I beg you to dig a little deeper with the latest FREE CHILDCARE funding. It translates to something like this Essential workers continue to work and receive your full income - child care workers please continue to work and care for everyone’s children but accept a 50% pay cut! Early childhood always has been an undervalued industry, this will see thousands of passionate educators walk away because they are financially better off not working. This system might work for big profit based centres who can cut their staff hours and receive funding for children that aren’t there, but what about our gorgeous small centres or our family day care educators. What about those operating for less than 12 months who are now expected to work for FREE! huge love and gratitude to you all - this world needs you, hopefully our government realised that. Please don’t tell educators to be grateful they still have a job! They expose their families to risk every single day and work long hours, all for a slap in the face! Yes this works wonderful for big centres, this is a blessing to families that are keeping their enrolments but not sending their children. Always ask, who does this disadvantage? If you don’t believe my word, then head to Family Day Care Australia and read the comments from hundreds of disadvantaged workers.

When Mr Morrison announced free childcare for all families he did not say that he was in fact tak...ing money from Educators to fund this announcement. 11.01.2022 T O D A Y W E S H O W E D U P Despite everything.... Today Family Day Care's like mine welcomed children and families into our homes.... Today we went about our days as per usual. Today we did whatever we could do to keep our families working and our economy going. We did this knowing that we might not see the jobkeeper package for another month and our wages right now have been halved. We did this because we LOVE what we do. We did this because we LOVE our FDC families and it's not their fault. We did this because we are professionals who run our own businesses and we are SO PROUD of the role we play. If your child is in care today, let your educator know how much you need them and value them. We definitely are all in this together and we LOVE that we can help everyone perform their roles in our society.

I have quite a bit of room for casual bookings in both school age and preschool age. These are NOT permanent positions.

04.01.2022 M I S S D FLASHBACK .... this WAS Miss D when she first started coming to play, 3 years ago! Crazy how the time has flown! Together we have played, cuddled, laughed, learned and explored together.... Miss D and her sister, Miss N were our first family in care at Woodside Come and Play. Like all the children who have come and played with us here, they have become part of our family. I know that i am so LUCKY to be asked to be a part of families lives. It's really an honour. So thank you, to all our past, present and future families.... i am very grateful for whatever time i have had in your lives.

04.01.2022 Life may be a little crazy in the outside world...but within this little environment all i can hear is... "I'm making wombat stew.." "Who is going to be the mum?" "Do we need some bark chips?"... "Can i mix it around?" "I need flowers, this cake is for mummy." The sun is still shining and children are still playing. Lets keep calm for them
