25.01.2022 Occasional Care children have really developed their feeling of belonging, begun to learn routines and have established trusting relationships with adults.

25.01.2022 Occasional Care on Monday was a very sensory exploration, Wednesday’s children enjoyed exploring the big Kindy activities as well as observing those big kindy children at play. Several children also had their last session before heading off to big kindy!

22.01.2022 We are closing in on our end of term learning. Last week saw us having to cancel our Wheel-A-Thon which we were sad about, although this enabled us to celebrate Chile Day at kindy. More exciting adventures together next week with Bush Kindy Tuesday and Footy colours day Wednesday before we head off on holidays.

22.01.2022 Wednesday 9th December- our last day of kindy for 2020. What a year it has been! We look forward to finishing the term with a bang- a day full of joyful , exciting and surprising activities. Lunch and healthy snacks will be provided for the children and please send along a spare set of clothes/or bathers just in case !

21.01.2022 This week saw lots of our Occasional Care children attend their last Occasional Care session before they move on to pre-entry and then full time kindy! It’s fantastic to see how these toddlers develop in confidence and develop their sense of belonging, being and becoming during their time in Occasional Care. Whether they are moving on to Kindy at Woodside or elsewhere, we wish them lots of fun and success in their learning journeys going forward.

16.01.2022 PRE-ENTRY SESSION THURSDAY 26/11/20 9-11.30am We are looking forward to seeing our Pre-Entry friends again tomorrow for another fun session of learning and playing together. ... Please note: Children will be signed in outside by a staff member. Parents cannot enter the building and will need to say goodbye and leave relatively quickly to avoid congestion. Staff will be on hand to help your child put away their belongings and settle in. At the end of the session, please wait outside the double gates until your child is brought over to you and then leave through the single gate. Again, staff will assist your child with this new routine. Please make sure you maintain 1.5m social distancing between adults. Please only send one adult to drop child off and pick up. Some staff may be wearing masks, please explain this to your children before you come. Many of them are very familiar with masks now! If you or your child has any respiratory symptoms, please do not attend the session. Thank you for your assistance with these restrictions. We really value the opportunity to provide this important transition experience for your child.

We love this colourful day and we enjoyed sharing it this year with special guests Declan, Poppy Ray and Slinky the sausage dog. We hope all of our families (&teachers )enjoy a peaceful break as we head into our final term together on Tuesday 13th October (2 day week) . Sayonara

13.01.2022 Please note these new locations and seek testing if required

13.01.2022 Occasional Care this week was all about sensory exploration. Monday children took their shoes off to explore the sandpit. Wednesday children used their senses of touch and hearing to explore textures and music. Benefits of not wearing shoes: - develops the brain and nervous system - allows correct growth of feet... - aids in walking and balance - strengthens feet and body - improves safety, teaches children to assess a situation and adapt to it - provides direct connection to the natural environment See more

13.01.2022 Occasional Care children are connected with and contribute to their world. This week they explored how to take care of our plants by watering them and how to care for and respect our resident Chicken, Henny Penny.

09.01.2022 We want to take a moment to thank our wonderful parents of the class of 2020- it was not the year they thought it would be for their preschoolers but the support we received from them was enormous ! In particular these wonderful parents who helped guide our governing council, work to improve our beautiful grounds and put their hand up for anything we asked of them. Thankyou

08.01.2022 We hope everyone is keeping safe and well at home. Here are some happy snaps of our playful week to cheer you all up.

07.01.2022 What an exciting announcement - look out South Australian Bushfire Affected Residents - here we come......

07.01.2022 We believe we can support children to expand their thinking and enhance their desire to learn through play and exploration, spontaneity and risk taking . This is from our philosophy statement and was very evident when reflecting on this weeks learning at kindy.

06.01.2022 He's back again tonight

06.01.2022 Thank you to all the occasional care parents and caregivers who managed our gate drop off with such good humour today. The children coped brilliantly and it was a real testament to their sense of belonging, growing confidence and trusting relationships with staff that they were able to adjust and enjoy their morning. Among other experiences today, we had a long conversation at the play dough table about sharing, asking for a turn and helping each other. Evidence of our learning outcome: Children are effective communicators.

06.01.2022 Occasional Care is all about developing children’s independence. For many it is their first venture into the world and experience of separating from their parents. These children need time to build trust and relationships with their new educators as well as with other children. Children begin by observing the environment and gradually progress to trying out new activities, playing solo with new materials, playing parallel with other children and finally playing with other children. All these stages can be seen in our occasional care children. We value each stage and are here to support children through them.

05.01.2022 OCCASIONAL CARE IS ON TOMORROW! If you were booked in for Occasional Care tomorrow please be advised the session will be going ahead as usual. The gate will remain locked until 9am when we will come to greet your children. * At pick up ...time please wait outside the gate and we will bring children out to you. * We will be predominantly playing outside, please dress your child appropriately for the weather and ensure they have a hat and sunscreen applied. * Some staff may be wearing masks, please discuss this with your child and explain why this is. * Please maintain social distancing while waiting at the gate for drop off and pick up. The car park area will be left clear for this to occur. * If you or your child has any respiratory symptoms, please do not attend the centre. See more
