21.01.2022 I have been hearing from many customers across Australia that this year is particularly wet. For this reason you may see bacterial and fungal skin/hoof conditio...ns (such as mud fever, rain scald and thrush) on your horse that may not normally arise. It pays to keep an eye out under rugs too, especially as it starts to get warmer. Our spray is a topical probiotic formula applied directly to the site of infection. It needs to be sprayed daily as its a numbers game with microbes...a matter of introducing enough beneficial microbes to outcompete the pathogens causing the infection. Also good for dogs with itchy skin or hot spots.

18.01.2022 With thrush and small patches of fungal infection, a 500ml bottle should be ample. When treating greasy heel/mud fever, larger areas of rain scald or more than ...one horse, the 1 litre is recommended. There are so many variables, such as, the virulence of the pathogen causing the infection, age, health and living conditions of your horse, among other factors which determine how long it will take to see results. It is a numbers game with microbes...basically introducing enough beneficials to outcompete the pathogens. 17.01.2022 Sunburn or photosensitization on areas of pink skin on the legs. Photosensitization can be caused by ingestion of certain plants, such as St John’s Wort, and li...ver problems. It causes the skin to become ultra-sensitive to sunlight, leading to raw, oozing areas of skin that become crusty and then slough away. The damage caused to the skin enables bacteria to enter. (www.horseandrideuk.com) This is a good explanation of photosensitivity in horses. EquineCare Probiotic will aid treatment of the bacterial component of the infection but not the initial cause, which will also need to be addressed.

16.01.2022 - Does Dynavyte MBS contain cobalt? Cobalt is an ubiquitous substance in that traces of it are found naturally in fee...ds, soils and grasses. As such Microbiome Support contains a minuscule amount of cobalt, as would occur in the natural environment. A horse would have to be "drenched" with 10 Litres of Microbiome Support in "one go" to contravene the rules of racing or competition. 06.01.2022 Nearly every treatment for greasy heel/mud fever calls for the scabs to be softened and removed. The skin below is sore and inflamed so this is not a pleasant s...cenario for your horse or the person treating them. The reason for removing them is that most other biocidal treatments need to come into direct contact with the disease and/or to allow oxygen behind the scabs, as many of the pathogens are anaerobic. EquineCare Probiotic works differently. We believe it’s better to leave the scabs where they are, they are there to protect damaged tissue and a natural part of the healing process.
