24.01.2022 Happy World Radio Day! Today we celebrated the Woodvale Radio station which was established with a grant from the P&C committee. It involved sound proofing, carpeting, and purchasing a computer and sound recording console. Students are able to play music live over the PA system throughout the College which has improved student wellbeing. Media students also use this station for curriculum units such as podcasting, interviews and sound effects.



24.01.2022 Well done to all students who participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition held in August. The College’s top student was Jacob R who achieved a High Distinction, which is awarded to students in the top 3% in Australia! Congratulations to the following students for achieving a Distinction or higher Year 7 Jack G and Jack L Year 8 Alex L... Year 9 Henry G, Nixon O and Jonathan C Year 10 Jacob R, Karl M and Ben A Year 11 Matthew P Lastly, well done to our Year 12 participants: Yixuan L, Jaden T, Nathan L and Leighton S who achieved commendable results of Credit and Distinction for their last attempt at the AMC.

23.01.2022 The College is collecting Chocolate Christmas Stockings for children in foster care. Donations can be dropped at the Home Economics office or at the front reception. Donations close 25 November.

22.01.2022 Next Tuesday the College will be hosting an information evening for the Specialist Program enrolments for 2022 at 5:30pm in the iCentre. RSVP is essential via email to [email protected]. Due to COVID restrictions only 1 parent and your child/children applying may attend.

20.01.2022 A video celebrating Reward Day for the last day of school for 2020, with a host of fun and games and activities for the afternoon.

20.01.2022 Each day last week various classes watched videos from different Indigenous leaders including Adam Goodes, Sally Morgan, Baker Boy, Mick Dodson and Yarlalu Thomas to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander during NAIDOC week. English classes also wrote messages on hand prints to hang around their classrooms.

12.01.2022 Last week, students in the Specialist Basketball Program attended their Presentation Evening at the Woodvale Reception Center. Special mention to Cody Ellis from the Warwick Senators and Jessica Stojkovski MLA for their attendance. Congratulations to all of the award winners.

12.01.2022 It was Cadbury vs Whittakers in Year 12 Foundations today. This involved a group activity working out the best value in size, cost and taste! Whittakers was definitely the winner with more grams per student and cheaper per gram. The lesson had a tasty ending.

08.01.2022 Year 9 students who have excellence attendance, behaviour and ICT practices were rewarded yesterday with ice-creams. There was also a prize draw for students with Thomas, Stephanie and Dana all winning gift cards for their excellent conduct at the College this term.

07.01.2022 Congratulations to the AE teams in their participation of the Write a Book in a Day Competition and raising over $2000 for charity. Unfortunately, none of our teams were successful, however, with over 1000 books being submitted and 7637 students participating nation-wide there was some fairly tough competition. 06.01.2022 Congratulations to Louis W for winning the Runner-up School Apprentice of the Year Award at the Hospitality Group Training Awards. He is currently studying a School Based Apprenticeship completing a Certificate III in Hospitality. He is a highly motivated and creative student who has a thirst for knowledge in anything related to the hospitality industry.

04.01.2022 Great work to the Year 10 class for putting together 45 bags for the Share the Dignity Drive.

03.01.2022 Our Year 12 students had their first Flex Day this week. Everyone at WSC was engaged in ECU UniPrep, OffGrid Certificates or Orientation. (Another 40 students were at courses run through NMTAFE or other RTOs). We are super excited about what this flexibility will allow us all to achieve.
