22.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT Hello Everyone, As communicated yesterday, we find ourselves with another round of Covid -19 restrictions in SA at this stage for at least the next 14 days (6 days in lockdown & another 8 days in partial lockdown)... All indoor and outdoor competitive sport, both playing and training have been postponed until further notice. I will endeavour to keep you all informed as we learn from the State Govt & SACA the path back to playing games. SACA have informed that it is a moving feast and very hard to give definitive answers at this stage of a return date. Today however, the WDCC community must take action as the Woodville Pizza Bar (WPB) has been identified on the Covid-19 Health Alert website as a High Risk hotspot due to a link with positive cases. Anyone who visited or got takeaway (including delivery) from WPB on or between 6th-16th November must immediately self-quarantine for 14 days. This includes people who live with you. People who visited across this period should seek testing as soon as possible, wear a mask and alert staff that they have been to the WPB. Soroush (owner of the WPB) is a friend of the WDCC and a current sponsor of our Club. We regularly purchase pizzas from his wonderful business. The last time the Club was involved with the Woodville Pizza Bar was for players teas on Thursday 5th November when Joe Sazacks attended for our reconciliation round launch. The pizzas were delivered to our kitchen, the slices were served individually using tongs and paper plates were thrown away as rubbish immediately afterwards. We seem to have dodged this bullet by 24 hours. If any players or immediate family of players are affected by this outbreak regarding the Woodville Pizza Bar, could you please contact me direct so we can assist authorities and the whole cricket community with next steps. The State Govt and the contact tracing system led by Dr Spurrier has been outstanding with their actions and I applaud the many people across Adelaide who have queued for hours to get tested, in order to keep SA safe. We are compelled to do our part and look closely at this outbreak in our own backyard. Finally, if anyone is feeling anxious about this situation, the WDCC family is there for you. Please pick up the phone and ring myself or anyone on the Committee, or ring any of the Coaching staff and we will listen to you and help in every possible way. For the boys from interstate living away from home, ring your parents and friends let them know how you're feeling and if we stick together and stay in touch we will get through this. If you get the opportunity to sneak home during this period please investigate this as a viable option and we will welcome you back with open arms totally refreshed. Regards Tim Pillion WDCC Chairman M: 0429 677 440
