20.01.2022 Hi All!, This is a quick reminder that the Sports and Community Club AGM is tomorrow night starting at 6.45pm. The impact that COVID has had on the community club has made this year one of the most challenging in our history. The need for support staff and committee members has never been greater. We ask that all of our players, supporters and stakeholders please attend the AGM to show your support. This club needs you. Also, if that’s not enough it’s $5 pints.

16.01.2022 Coaching announcement Firstly the club would like to sincerely thank Adam ‘Bomber’ Clifford for his time as a senior coach at our great club. He’s taken the club from Div 6 to a competitive Div 4 club. He’s given us stability and given the club a great platform to succeed in the future. He’s taken a keen interest in not only developing our players but has also enjoyed developing and working with the clubs coaches. Bomber will be taking a step back this season and will mov...e into a Director of Coaching role. I’m sure this role will evolve over time but what he is really passionate about is providing assistance, developing and mentoring our players and coaches. Sam ‘Skewsy’ Skewes is expecting his first child soon and will also be taking a back step. He’s excelled as the B grade coach and undoubtedly is the main event for club presentation’s on a Saturday night. The B grade boys have held a close affinity with Skewsy and will be sad to see him go. Jeff ‘Sharky’ Clarke will unfortunately step away also. Who can forget Sharky’s premiership run in 2019. The glass is always half full with Sharky and he’s extremely popular with all players at our footy club. All three men have a desire to stay involved with the club & have left the place better than they have found it. They simply love the club and their players. Please leave a comment below thanking Bomber, Skewsy and Sharky. Potential future coaches of WSFC please see attached advert for the A’s, B’s and C’s coaching positions and follow the instructions to apply. It’s a great footy club full of great people with massive potential.

15.01.2022 Please see attached advertisement for men’s A, B & C grade coaches.

01.01.2022 The WSFC is very pleased to announce Trevor Jenkin as its new senior coach for the 2021 season and beyond. Trevor is a self confessed ‘footy head’ & has a work ethic to rival the hardest of workers. Trevor has written a few words below. ‘I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and say that I’m very honoured to have been appointed to coach at the Woodville South Football Club.... Briefly, I am married to Adrienne and have four children. My three boys all play for the Lobethal Football Club & Adrienne and our daughter Holly spend most of their Saturday afternoons at the footy supporting them. I did not coach in 2019 / 20 as I decided to watch my sons play each week but I found that not only did I miss the involvement & the challenge of coaching too much but I was also slowly driving Adrienne and Holly crazy watching the boys play ! I have been involved in coaching for the best part of 25 years, most recently in the River Murray Football League with the Imperial Football Club where I was lucky enough to be involved in the 2018 A Grade Premiership as their Senior Assistant Coach. I also spent three years with Imperials winning the A Grade Premiership in 2011, again as their Senior Assistant Coach & then finishing third in 2012 and runners-up in 2013. Most of my coaching career has been in the Hills Football League and included stints at the Onkaparinga Valley Football Club ( runners up ) as well as participating in the finals with the Birdwood Football Club, Nairne Bremer Football Club & the Lobethal Football Club. I can assure you that not only myself but all the coaches are committed to assisting you and the club achieve your goals & that all of us are determined to give you the best possible opportunities to see you and this Club achieve success. We are currently negotiating with several players about the possibility of joining our club for the 2021 season and if you know of any potential players, volunteers, sponsors or supporters please contact either myself or the club. It is very important that you pass on to us these names as the competitiveness of any football club depends on the strength of its playing depth and members. 2021 will be a very rewarding season with the right attitude from you, your teammates, myself and the other coaches and I am looking forward to meeting with you to discuss our plans further. As I mentioned if you think of anyone that can assist the Woodville South Football Club in any way or if you have any queries concerning the above or any other football matters please get in contact with me.’ T.J Trevor Jenkin 0408 030 360 // [email protected] Please leave a comment welcoming Trevor & his family to the Woodville South community.
