24.01.2022 Today’s Supervisor during the Koala fencing project Our team is feeling so lucky to be able to help these fellas out. Nature is so important to us and to be able to give these little guys a chance to get to the other side of the road safely makes our hearts all warm and fuzzy. Some more Koala fun facts Koala’s grow up to become big eaters, shifting up to one kilogram of eucalyptus leaves in a day! They are fussy, too, and will select the most nutritious and tastiest le...aves from the trees where they live. These magnificent mammals get their name form an Aboriginal name gula meaning, ‘no drink’. It’s believed this is because koalas get almost all their moisture from the leaves they eat, and rarely drink water. Enjoy having a snooze? Well so do our furry friends! Koalas don’t have much energy and, when not feasting on leaves, they spend their time dozing in the branches. Believe it or not, they can sleep for up to 18 hours a day! See more

23.01.2022 Friday’s Job! We were all very tired this weekend after a massive week of work. Thankyou to all our clients for supporting us during this difficult time. We understand how much financial pressure Covid-19 is causing and we appreciate you support for our small local business No Job Too Small, No Tree Too Tall This Large Paper Bark, unfortunately had to be removed due to its location in a small residential area and causing issues to the fence, shed and underground uti...lities. Our head Arborist and Owner Woody also identified the tree had included bark causing week unions with potential of falling. Included bark has no strong supportive fiber strength as wood does so the connection is much weaker than a union without included bark. #arborist #trees #support #local #mackaypride #mackay #mackayliving #treesurgeon #arboriculture

22.01.2022 Full Swing Ahead into 2020! We have already completed some un-be-leaf-able trees this year. One of them being in the top 5 of the biggest trees completed by Woody’s Tree Services. The timber didn’t go to waste. A local neighbour has taken it to be slabbed up to make his new deck! We love seeing beautiful timber not got to waste. *keep an eye out for our before and after photos in the next few days*

19.01.2022 I spy with my little eye!!! Something beginning with S......... Don’t worry this is a Yellow Belly common tree snake is highly variable in colour and is also known as green tree snake, yellow-bellied or blue-bellied black snake. The body is extremely slender and can be either grey, olive-green, various shades of brown, black, even blue and turquoise. When disturbed it can inflate its body to show patches of bright blue skin between the body scales. The underside is usually cream or yellow or light blue in some individuals. Common tree snakes are found in a variety of habitat types, but are usually seen in eucalypt woodland or rainforest areas. They are active during the day in trees and on the ground, feeding mostly on frogs and birds. They grow to an average length of 1.5m.

18.01.2022 Back to school over the Easter Break! The past two weeks we have been to numerous schools carrying our various types of tree work. It was an exciting time for our team to have such an awesome opportunity to work at the schools and get them tidy and ready for the kids when they get back to learning.

18.01.2022 Don’t forget this weekend you can get free native plants for your garden.

16.01.2022 Goodbye Summer, let’s hope for some cooler weather!

15.01.2022 Slowmo Sunday’s Trip down memory lane - This lovely pine was planted 61 Years ago! How do we know this well it’s a part of the family. Tash’s Grandad planted it when he first brought the house. The new owners decided it was time to go as it was getting to big for the area. But don’t worry the timber is getting turned into side tables for Tash’s Aunty and Mother to keep the memory of their father and the house they grew up in. #woodystreeservices #goodbyepine #slowmotion #arborist #arboriculture #mackaypride #mackay #supportlocal #timber #pinetree

11.01.2022 Our last post for 2019! As we reflect on the highs and lows of this year. There is one thing we can’t seem to shift our minds off the families who will be welcoming 2020 in bushfire affected areas across Australia. There isn’t much we can do at this stage to help besides donating money. But bringing 2020 in we can all make small changes in our life to help fight climate change in hopes this prevents future natural disasters from happening. We are choosing to live 2020 by reduce, reuse and recycle to help fight the effects climate change is having on the world.

09.01.2022 Great Day Today! Here is a little video from the lovely Freddo family. Thanks guys for the amazing video, very talented.

08.01.2022 I spy with my little eye! The past two weeks we have been out over the hill working hard to give our beautiful Koala friends a safer environment. The queensland government are currently trialing Koala fencing. It’s been our job to clear trees for the fencing to go up. This fencing will stop Koalas from crossing the road and will guide them along the banks of the creeks. Making it nice and safe to visit there family and friends on the other side of the highway. We have b...een working along side environmentalist in making sure every tree has been assessed to make sure no wild life are harmed. But along the way we have learnt some very interesting facts. To start with a lot of people don’t even know that we actually have a large number of Koalas from Eton to Nebo and beyond. The Koala species in our area is actually the same as down south but for some reason are a lot smaller. This has still not been determined why! Koalas travel up to 30km at night. The male Koala can be recognised by a round looking patch on his chest, it’s how he sends out his scent. Koalas live near creek beds this is because the leaves are a lot taster! Ok not really but the trees are a lot bigger around the creeks as they have a better water source therefor they grow bigger making it a great source of food for our furry little friends. So far we have spotted 5 Koalas, with a few more days to go on the project fingers cross we see a few more of these little guys See more

06.01.2022 Termite High Way - They were not happy about this tree going! But this large gum was close to the house and as you can see was home to some unwanted Termites.
