23.01.2022 Sometimes life happens... Dogs become matted and then it becomes embarrassing to get help. I am sharing these photos with the owners permission to show what can be happening under the dogs hair when the knots become matting. This sweet little man had a coat which became pelted right down to skin level and required a very short shave to get underneath the matts. Dogs with matted hair have skin pulling and pinching from which they can’t get relief and it is also very common as... in this case for grass seeds and prickles to get stuck in the skin causing further pain and also possible infection and can require veterinary treatment if not removed. Clipping matted coats is time consuming but the end result as you can see here is a very happy comfortable dog. My aim with every dog I groom is to make the experience as low stress as possible and I pay particular attention to ears, groin, armpits, feet and other areas where problems can occur. If you have a dog who is overdue for grooming, send me a message to book them in before the weather gets any cooler so they aren’t shaved short in the middle of Winter . I recommend grooming of long haired dogs throughout Winter to keep the dog comfortable and prevent matting and other issues. 03.01.2022 Gorgeous Maple visited the team at MFRS to get her Big Dog pet food, a great way to feed a balanced raw diet in convenient frozen portions. I feed Big Dog to my dogs, Luca (Jack Russell) gets the small dog size and Sabrina (Bull Arab) gets the large size. I get the next one out of the freezer and pop them in the fridge when I feed them their portion and it defrosts in time for the next meal, so convenient!! They are both going really well on them and their skin and general h...ealth has improved. There are also single protein options for dogs with allergies.
