16.01.2022 The team are on their way back from Cloncurry. The challenge proved to be a challenge as always with some tough cattle making competition interesting. A big con...gratulations goes to Morgan Webb & all ties to ‘Contractor’ who took out the prestigious event this year! Hugh & ‘Woolerina Poetry’ owned by Andrew and Lauren Winks placed 3rd in the challenge. A special moment for them after winning the challenge on Poetry’s mother, ‘Woolerina Rhythm’ in 2012 also owned by the Winks Family. Hugh feels very privileged to be able to show and ride great horses for great friends at events like these. A big thanks all other clients, both new and old who entrusted their horses with Hugh for the challenge. ‘Bet Shesa Cat’ also finaled and was sitting pretty on an 87 after the dry work where they were running equal second with ‘Poetry’ but they got unlucky in the wet work. Hugh couldn’t have been happier with both horses and we wish the new owners of ‘Bet Shesa Cat’ all the best and look forward to seeing her in the competitors arena in the near future. Nathan Butler, a vital member of the team also had a great show. Great to see him be rewarded for all his hard work and dedication he puts in 110% of the time both at home and at shows. He is a real talent & placed 3rd in the Futurity draft on his challenge horse ‘Secret Plains Maxwell’ and 2nd in the Restricted Open. Big congratulations to him. Huge thanks to the Cloncurry Committee, the judges & to Hugh’s ongoing sponsors Ariat, Diamond Wool Pads, Johnson’s Natural Formula as well as new sponsors Biowash, Biogel & 4cyte. Final thanks to the other competitors who made the journey north this year to make it the tough competition that it is. Next up for the team is the St George Futurity which starts next week.
