He has had a rough run with multiple back surgeries ...over the last few years but was ready to make a change. 18.01.2022 This time last year (2019) after going away on a family holiday I lost a lot of fitness, put on some weight and my motivation was gone. I decided that if I was to teach consistency to my clients I would need to practice what I preach. So, 368 days later I’ve tracked macros and calories everyday. Not effectively fuelling my body Very rare rest days Not focussing enough on compound movement/lifts Minimal vegetables/fruits Stair master for 30min every day will lose fat Unrealistic expectations Photo on the Right: Eating 2700 Calories per day Effectively fuelling my bodies energy requirements Focusing on compound movements/lifts 1-2 rest days per week Increased vegetables/fruit each day Higher volume foods (Stay fuller for longer) Realistic expectations Enjoyable cardio 2-3 times per week First thing Id like to put out there is that everyone is different when it comes to training & nutrition. My personal requirements will not directly correspond to anybody else. Everyone is an individual and no single system will work for everyone. Energy balance is by far the key too long lasting body & mindset alteration. Tracking energy input (Caloric intake) allows you to consistently monitor/adjust how many calories your ingesting. Perform this over a consistent period of time will get you results. If your a beginner to tracking food like anything in life, it will take time too master so dont stress if you sometimes get it wrong. The moral of the above is that In order to attain consistent long lasting results is to start watching how many calories your ingesting. 14.01.2022 Since I started my fitness journey in early 2013 I’ve always grown up in a bodybuilding background. I will admit after 7 years of this I was starting to lose the love for training and training began to feel like a chore. I was losing my love for training. I began to question the point of building up all this muscle if all I can do is attempt to look pretty. During the beginning of May 2020 I began pursuing CrossFit with a more athletic/...performance based approach to training. Personally I wish I started sooner. I started to rapidly regained my love for training! One rumour I thought I’d struggle to deal with in pursuing CrossFit is that cardio kills gains and CrossFit creates injuries. 7 months later I could not disagree more with those two statements. My cardio has never been this good I’ve never been stronger I know far more about structuring training for not just hypertrophy The moral of my rant is that there is not only one way to be fit. Training should be a balance of enjoyment and development. The year consisted of an amazing family holiday with my gorgeous family to Italy, plus a few lovely trips to Hervey Bay.
