25.01.2022 Minnie Water Wooli Carnival - tomorrow!! Woolgoolga let’s get ready to compete!! Please see below reminders for tomorrow’s carnival Once again due to COVID restrictions at the time of organising the carnival will be raced in block format. By block racing we mean that when an age group comes onto the beach they will complete all their events in one session and once completed they can go home. We are encouraging that competitors turn up, compete and then promptly leave.... We have taken onboard the teething problems encountered at Woolgoolga and hope that we sorted these out. We will have additional sign-on tables and again are encouraging everyone to download the Service NSW app. prior to arrival to assist. Sign-on should be available from 7am onwards. The following blocks will apply. - Under 8, Under 9, Under 10 and Under 11 will have a starting time of 8am - Under 12, Under 13 and Under 14 are asked to turn up and be ready to race at 11am. - Under 15 upwards to Opens will commence at 12.30pm. Please note we will not start earlier than nominated times. Officials will be required for the full day. We are still short of officials so would appreciate any assistance. Each age group will require 2 age managers or something equivalent so if we need to split the age group into male and female each will still have an age manager. This is however a maximum limit. We will also need volunteers to assist as COVID Marshalls. At Minnie there will be a COVID sign-on tent / table / area all competitors, spectators, parents, officials etc are required to sign in as soon as entering the area. Please be advised that we are limited to 1 parent / spectator per competitor. Please be advised this is a COVIDSafe event and all plans have been developed and lodged. Your cooperation and understanding is appreciated. Good luck to all our competitors! ***A reminder there will be no normal Nippers at Woolgoolga***

16.01.2022 Woolgoolga Combined Carnival 15/11/2020 Please be advised this is a COVIDSafe event and all plans have been developed and lodged. Your cooperation and understanding is appreciated. North Coast Branch has made the decision to adopt block racing for the upcoming carnival in order to adhere to COVID-19 requirements. Block racing means an age group comes onto the beach and completes all their events in one session. We are encouraging competitors to turn up, compete and then p...romptly leave once concluded. The following blocks have been allocated with competitors asked to turn up at Woolgoolga and be ready to race. - Under 8, Under 9, Under 10 and Under 11 will have a starting time of 8am - Under 12, Under 13 and Under 14 will have a starting time of 11am. - Under 15 upwards to Opens will commence at 12.30pm. - Please note we will not start earlier than the nominated times. Officials and helpers will be required for the full day. Everyone is asked to please download the Service NSW App so that upon arrival at the carnival the QR code check in can be completed quickly as required under our COVID plan. A COVID sign-on area will be established with ALL competitors, spectators, parents, officials etc required to sign in as soon as entering the area. Please be advised that we are limited to 1 parent/spectator per competitor. Upon arrival you will be given an armband that must be worn at all times by everyone. COVID monitoring will be occurring and we ask all spectators to remain in the designated area on the grass and adhere to social distancing requirements and requests from COVID Marshalls. Personal sun safety shelters etc are encouraged! The grassed area to the North of the Old Clubhouse is being utilised for the spectator area. The beach will be our ‘field of play’ and only competitors, officials, water safety, age managers and team managers issued with the correct wristband will be permitted access. We require assistance with: Work party (set up, distribute lunches, running results etc) Officials Water Safety COVID Marshall BBQ Volunteers We look forward to getting back out on the beach and for a great day of competition. 15.01.2022 NIPPERS 13/12/2020 Unfortunately due to the prevailing conditions and forecasts the committee has decided that tomorrow will not be pleasant for our last day fun day ... As such the difficult decision has been made to cancel our last Nippers for this part of the year.... We wish all our families a safe and happy Christmas and New Year and look forward to recommencing in 2021

15.01.2022 #SurfSports Country Championships Update from SLSNSW The current COVID restrictions on Community Sport competitions is proving extremely challenging for sport organisations to effectively plan to host major events. On the basis of these restrictions, it is with great disappointment that we announce the difficult decision made by the SLSNSW Board to cancel the 2021 NSW Country Surf Life Saving Championships. In its deliberations, the Board considered many factors, including t...he requirements for families to plan travel and accommodation, the availability of officials and various safety personnel and other volunteers and the limits on numbers permitted at sporting events due to COVID. It was considered simply too difficult logistically to plan to operate the Championships within the prevailing restrictions this year. We wish to thank the Cudgen Headland SLSC for their significant contribution to the Country Championships over the past two years and the significant planning that has already been undertaken for the 2021 event. SLSNSW has a working group in place to assist with planning for the 2022 Country Championships and beyond.
