12.01.2022 ‘Sleeping rough Woolloomooloo’ by our wonderful artist, Justine Muller hung in the Dobel Drawing Prize 2011. Of the work, Justine says ...This photo was taken for a story in telegraph title ‘drawing attention to homelessness.’ The drawing was made into limited edited prints that raised money for art classes at the Matthew Talbot hostel. This drawing was very special to me as it’s about Woolloomooloo, the suburb I love and grew up in.

02.01.2022 Remembrance Day 2020 Let’s take a minute at 11am to commemorate the men and women who served Australia in Armed conflicts. Today, the soldiers most closely associated with our area are those of the 1/19th Battalion, The Royal NSW Regiment. They officially inherit the Battle honours of the Royal NSW Regiment dating back to the volunteer riflemen who trained in the Domain in 1850. Their motto has always been First- always first. In the early says of NSW nursing, a large home... in Woolloomooloo, known as St Kilda’s was a training site for young nurses. Many went on to serve in WW1. The Florence Nightingale Wing at Sydney Hospital was established to continue quality nursing training in NSW. For the full history of the 1/19 Battalion see www.rnswr.com.au See more
