25.01.2022 Breaking News: An emergency ophthalmic intervention was needed today for Spots the Giraffe following a vicious attack! Officials advise the four legged perpetrator is still at large. Luckily with Dr Helen's quick thinking Spots came out of his surgery with both eyes intact and is expected to make a full recovery!

24.01.2022 Hello to our wonderful and supportive Facebook viewers, it is me Nurse Rebekah who has been working on this page for the past few years. I’m here today to say goodbye - tomorrow will be my last day at Wooloowin Animal Hospital where you’ve probably seen me about since 2015. I wanted to thank everyone who has come through our doors over those years - chatting about your pets brightened my days and I learnt so much about this wonderful community here in Wooloowin. Thank you and all the best for the new year

23.01.2022 That feeling when you make it to Friday afternoon and it's finally walkies time.

22.01.2022 Dr Helen must be having withdrawals from her own dachshund Albus, but luckily Frankie was here to fill in!

22.01.2022 It may be a cold and rainy day here at the vets but our hearts are warmed by how generous and thoughtful our clients can be

22.01.2022 Have you noticed a new face around our little clinic? Meet Dr Phillip - our newest Vet! Dr Phillip has two cats of his own (soon to be three) as well as a Labrador Retriever and is looking forward to getting to know all our fantastic Wooloowin clientele!

21.01.2022 Is your dog always up for a cuddle like Winston the labradoodle?

21.01.2022 Its Puppy Monday again! Because who doesn't need a puppy to cheer up their Monday? This weeks puppy is JJ the Maltese x - Just look at that cute button nose!

21.01.2022 Everyone say a big hello to this weeks Patient of the week Marlow the Mini Schnauzer! Marlow wins this week based on her good looks (check out those eyebrows) and politeness - Congratulations Marlow!!

20.01.2022 Meet Tigger the 12 year old Persian x who valiantly traversed multiple suburbs on his own searching for his home. As Tigger is no longer able to stay where he is, Wooloowin Animal Hospital is seeking expressions of interest for someone willing to take on this tenacious feline. Tigger's ideal housemate is someone willing to play by his rules and who is able to appreciate this independent cat from a distance (not a hard job when you see how majestic he is). If you think you might be the right fit give us a call on 3861 0203 and we can arrange a meeting!

19.01.2022 MISSING: Is anyone missing a cute black shepherd dog? One was found in Nundah just after the storms. If you know of the owner please give us a call on (07) 38610203

18.01.2022 Nurse Roxy is a familiar face to all those who visit our hospital here in Wooloowin. A friend to everyone who walks through our doors, Roxy has not only upheld a high standard of nursing at our hospital but also shown an unwavering dedication to her own professional development. Since arriving from Toowoomba in 2013 she has been systematically working her way through all Brisbane has to offer but this year has decided to make the move to Melbourne to begin a new chapter in a brand new city. We here at Wooloowin Animal Hospital are sad to see her go, Melbourne is gaining one fantastic nurse and all round great person

17.01.2022 Some of our favourite animals occasionally come to the clinic dressed in their favourite outfits. Here's a few from one very special Munchkin cat. We've got a couple of Christmas outfits to share next month but would any other pets want to share photos of their ones or come in for treats?

17.01.2022 August is Dental Month where we have an extra focus on oral health. The best treatment is prevention, but not all of us can do daily tooth brushing. That's why this month we're offering 20% of all Royal Canin Dental food and $20 off each bag of Hills T/d (tooth diet) foods

16.01.2022 Can you spot the second dog in this photo? Albus the dachshund and his hard to spot friend would like to remind everyone we will be closed tomorrow for ANZAC day

16.01.2022 We recently received this wonderful card and we're posting it; as not only is it hilarious but it highlights just one of the many risks of Christmas for our furry (and non-furred/feathered). Most people know about fatty offcuts, raisins, chocolate and all the Christmas accompaniments affecting dogs but few know about cats that eat tinsel. 99% of cats are geniuses at not gorging themselves on things that cause harm but what about the 1%. The cat sitting behind the card whose face is not shown for privacy, has just learnt a new trick. Consistently opening the fridge even when you're watching. He samples cheeses, butter, leftover pizza and whatever is in its hidden delights. So instead of tinsel on a tree we might have to with an unadorned cat tree.

16.01.2022 Merry Belated Christmas Everyone. Here's some of the cute outfits our patients have worn recently!

15.01.2022 Does your cat love to play? Play can be a great way to encourage activity to keep their* brains and bodies young. *Dogs and cats

15.01.2022 Wooloowin Animal Hospital would like to wish all our wonderful clients a happy and safe Easter and remind everyone that we will be closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday :)

15.01.2022 This weeks Patient of the week ( as well as award for best hair ) goes to Kikki the Shih Tzu x! Kikki shows off her fabulous personality with bows and sparkly collars as well as that signature pink hair, Congratulations Kikki!

14.01.2022 If you popped into our Clinic in the last week you may have had the opportunity to meet our brand new Vet Dr Jill! As you can see here Coco the Boston Terrier puppy definitely enjoyed being one of her first patients. Dr Jill brings her experience and passion for animals to the clinic as well as a surprising family connection - Dr Helen and Dr Jill are in fact sisters!

14.01.2022 August is pet dental month and for it we're doing a number of different specials to spice things up. $20 off all bags of Hills dog t/d (tooth diet). $10 off all bags of cat t/d. Also, up to $20 of Royal Canin dental food. And most exciting, a free doc and phoebe cat hunting system with purchases of Hills t/d food. This can help enrich your cats lifestyle, reduce boredom, loose weight and thus lower stress and urinary issues. Dogs similarly can get a classic kong with t/...d purchases (red regular size). *Only limited stocks of the toys available so only available for while stocks last.

11.01.2022 We almost missed it, but Happy International Cat Day! If you've been in recently you might have noticed shelves moving around. That was to accommodate a giant shipment of over three hundred pouches of newly released prescription cat food. Salmon and chicken chunks in gravy for all of the renal, urinary and gastrointestinal diet cats. There's currently 20% off all cat pouches to make up for our slightly over zealous cat food ordering. On that note, one of our kidney patie...nts just dropped off a heated cat cave for us to try. He reckons its given his arthritic joints a relief for the past couple of years. Our resident calico cat is currently trying it out on the front bench. Whilst she may be a toy and unnamed she's micro chipped and extremely loving despite the many dogs wanting to chase her. Her only fault are the five paralysis ticks hiding on her. Practice finding them as you might not see ticks for a while once bravecto for cats is released. See more

07.01.2022 Meet Edie the friendliest dog in the land. Edie only has one problem, she's having a bit of an identity crisis! is she a lab? is she a kelpie? Luckily with modern technology a simple DNA test could give us some answers but in the meantime, can you help solve the mystery of Edie? Comment below with your guess!

06.01.2022 After years of waiting, bravecto spoton is finally here. No longer will you have to drench your cat in frontline spray to combat the deadly paralysis tick. Instead there is now a convenient spoton that lasts 3 months for both flea and ticks. It even comes in a dog version lasting 6 months!
