15.01.2022 Remember when..... The Miss Woongoolba Ball was held once a year and was the local event of the year at the Woongoolba Public Hall. From Mid 60s to early 90sThe minutes of the Hall each year focus on the annual Dance which for a time was the Miss Woongoolba Ball. In 1974, The President was Mr L Reisenwebber, Secretary Mrs P. Maas, Treasurer Mrs R. Langfeldt, and the committee was considering lowering the hall from High stumps to the low stumps it has today. The Miss Wo...ongoolba ball was held on 10 August, 1974. Music was provided by Revivors Orchestra, Door Man was Mr E Berndt, and Judges were Mr and Mrs Jack McGrath, and yes there were crab sandwiches. A Young Kaye Kleinschmidt (Now Rossmann) was selected to represent Woongoolba, at the Miss Albert Shire Ball. Entry to the dance was $1.00 and as winner Kaye was awarded the amount of $15 as prize Money. The profit from the dance was $46.22. If you have any photos or comments on other Miss Woongoolbas, Dances or events, please feel free to forward for publication. "Remember when" .... Today we are proud to again be hosting local dances, and look forward to getting back on the floors soon.....
